Question about GPS
When starting up the Navman S80 it keeps bringing me back to accepting the safety agreement and will not go further. Is there anyway I can re-set it?
When I turn my unit on all I can see is the accept/decline screen. The unit will not load the maps. How can I fix this?
Connect your Navman Device to your computer via a USB cable.
Turn on your device and you will see a connection screen appear.
Wait a few Seconds until a window appears on your desktop and then select “open folder to view” by double clicking on it
Once you have opened this folder you will need to double click on “My Documents”
Once my documents is opened locate and files that starts with “LOG00” and also “My Mileage” and delete them
Once the above steps are done you may disconnected your unit from the computer.
Turn your unit on and enter your main menu page 2/2 and select “Preferences” then select “Route Options”
Once this is selected go to page 4/4 and un-tick “Enable GPS data logging” and “Enable trip recording”
Your unit is ready to use and will run a lot smoother due to increasing unwanted data and freeing space to increase optimum performance. We suggest that you follow these steps once a month to ensure optimal performance.
These steps will work on the S50, S80 or S90i. If you are experiencing this issue on an S30 or any other device, please contact Navman Technical Support on 1300 628 626.
I used this personally on my S80 after it died during my work as a Security Patrol officer and I was not happy, its all fixed now and I have my Nokia N95 loaded with the same places just in case.

Had the same problem, I called tech support and all I had to do was connect the Navman to my computer, open my documents on the device and delete all the files saved there for 'logs and milage'. These files had filled up the memory so it could not load the maps. It worked straight way and all my saved loations were still there. I hope this helps. Cheers

I fixed it by removing the maps and resinstalling the map upgrade that I purchased a year ago.
It worked for me.

All a bit late I know but having just had identical problem I left device on charge linked to USB port and after and hour everything was back to normal

I had this problem after installing the service pack. After no help from NAVMAN I found this
I followed the advice by Grantdale1 (making sure I did not delete DEVICE.XML) and it worked

I just installed the service pack and if fixed this problem (that only occurred as I went to get the service pack...)

After returning the Navman to **** Smith for a full refund (not successful) they advised me that it will have to be delt with by NAVMAN themselves, it was taken to the 1 and only repair centre for navman products located in Sydney, has been there for a week now and i don't expect to see it for the easter long weekend. Thanks Navman..... ;-(
