My laptop touch pad is not working when i use it to enter selected items in my screen, but it can scroll but the only problem is not working touch pad when i need to use.

Depending on the model of laptop and the drivers installed, the touch pad is often adjustable to a variety of parameters.

On a windows based system, open your Windows control panel with the start button and navigate to your hardware and sound folder. Alternatively, you can accomplish the same task by right clicking on "my computer" and select "manage." Then on the left side of the screen that appears select "device manager."

In the hardware list you will find a selection for "mouse and keyboards." Select that. Within that selection you should be able to navigate to your touch pad settings with the various tabs. Again, depending on the model, you may very well be able to adjust the actual size of the area of the touch pad that you can tap on to allow selection of things on screen. There may also be a sensitivity adjustment. If that adjustment is not available, try updating the device driver or uninstalling and reinstalling the device.

Hi, on the acer aspire one comp i have, I am having trouble with the pointer to work. I guessing i might have disabled the touch pad, not sure how to enable it again.

Some laptops have a touch pad lock button, so when typing you don't move the curser or click something and mess **** up lol. Anyways, look on your laptop or in the user mannual for that option.

If you do not, then this works in Windows XP and Vista. Go to Control Panel> Mouse> Settings tab of the device Click <Enable> (or <Disable> to disable)

You can navigate with your arrow keys.

Not working right click of touch pad of Acer Aspire 4710z

What operating system are you running? All I could find was a manual for your model:

If you are using Windows XP, you might try going to Control Panel -> Mouse -> On the first tab (Buttons) check "Switch primary and secondary buttons." then hit "Apply".

Try left-clicking (currently assigned to be the right-click) on your Start button and see if the menu with "Explore All Users" on the very bottom opens. If it does, then your touchpad is most likely defective and would have to be fixed ( If the menu doesn't come up, then it is a software issue and is 100% fixable.
