I've had dlink since Dec 07 all was fine for a couple of weeks, after that I have not been able to access the internet from my laptop. I did some trouble shooting by checking all connections, resetting the d link, both work fine. I uninstalled and reinstalled the wireless lan card program for the laptop (7 times) but no link or connection. I tried reconfigureing the wireless setting ,which was mostly guess work. I decided to see if ip adresses were an issue and I am unable to find any adresses at all. Iam all guessed out, what should I do?
Have you tried connecting the laptop to the router using an ethernet cable, and were you able to get internet access this way?

-   My internet connection works fine with the ethernet cable plugged in to the laptop but as soon as I remove it it doesn't work. Do I have to set up a wireless connection? And if yes how would I do that?

if you give the automatic ip address obtian throught dhcp in that you give proxery server if there then remove it . and go to the router page and go to dhcp in that you enable and give the dns there and ip address you isp . then you get it after then you not get it then disable the proxery server. in laptop give both automatic.
