Question about RCA 32V524T TV
I have this tv (rca 27v414t) it will come on for a few seconds and then it will shut off can you please help me or guide me to solve this problem, thank you...
After replacing the flyback transforer and horizontal synch transistor you will need to adjust the flyback transofrmer as follows:
Turn each setting to just above mid point clockwise, turn the tv on and you should see a white screen with retrace lines in it just before the tv turns back off. set yourself up with a plastic screw driver and prepare for adjusting the focus(top adjustment) turn the tv on and adjust the focus by looking at the pixels on the screen. repeat as needed to complete.
Next setup for the brightness (lower adjustment) turn the tv on and adjust the brightness to where the screen appears to be black(no haze or lines). After the tv turns off wait a few seconds and turnit back on, it should stay on, if not then the brightness setting it too far one way or the other and "TecniklyNuts" it correct, the system detects the setting out of range and turns the tv off. Repeat the two adjustments until the system stays on.

Most likely the TV is detecting an internal problem with it's circuitry and is shutting itself off to prevent further damage. You'll need to have a professional look at your set to determine exacly what's going on. Aside from leaving the power cord unplugged for five minutes, then pluggin back in and trying it again, there's nothing anyone can do from here. It may work, but it's a long shot.
Hope this helps, and please rate my advice, good OR bad.

In our experience, mortons153 is right on the money. We just replaced a fly in one of these and had to "play" for a good 15 minutes to get it balanced out to allow the set to run. RCA strikes again with decent features for the money, but still a cheaply built set. The old gray mare just ain't what she used ta be...

I have seen similar shutdowns after changing the flyback. if the screen and focus are not set just right the abl circuit will shut this puppy down in a heartbeat. the controls are on the side of the flyback. this may not be your problem but its easy enough to try.
