Hi

Pls check in BIOS in advanced options, if the onboard audio is enabled or not. If not, enable it.
Pls check if the windows audio is enabled in services.msc.
If it is listed, make sure tht it is enabled.
If it is already enabled, stop the service and restart it.
If it still doesnt work, then download the driver from the yamaha website and then install it.

Im recording my piano on garage band, how can i get rid of the noise coming from my laptop

Plug-in a set of headphones. This will (mechanically) disable the built-in speakers. Actually, any plug inserted into the "headphone-output" jack will mechanically "mute" the speakers.

Hello, When I connect my headset on my laptop Asus a7sv I get sound but no sound from the speakers. I have Windows Vista en I downloaded the original driver from the asus website. I tried everything....

Most headphone jacks operate as you describe. There is a switch built into the jack that diverts the audio from the speakers to the headphones for "private listening". If it didn't work this way, there would be no way that you could enjoy an audio track or other program with others having to hearing it, too.

You could get around this problem by using an external speaker set and a "splitter cable".
moz-screenshot.pngfaaa714.jpg
A splitter cable is simply a three ended cable like the one pictured above. The first end has a male plug that matches the jack on your computer - likely a stereo mini plug. The other two ends are usually the same; but the female version. You would plug the splitter into the SPEAKER jack and the laptop speakers would be silenced. Next, you would plug the the external speakers into one of the splitter jacks and then your headset would plug into the remaining splitter jack. You would connect the microphone plug into the MIC jack on the laptop.

You'll have to tinker with the sound levels as there will be feedback issues - depending on how close and loud the speakers are to the headset microphone.

Please rate this reply - and good luck!

No sound on monitor speakers

You have installed a new sound card however you won't be able to use the monitor speakers unless there is a seperate cable that you can plug into the headphone jack. Or you can get some speakers and plug them into the headphone jack.

If the sound works on you headphones the either your built-in  speaker(s)  is/are  bad or more likely the headphone jack itself is broken and not making contact in the speaker position which is fairly common.

Low sound in headphone

I would say it is because the unit does not have a built in amplifier. The speakers are powered PC speakers of studio monitors I am guessing. Try plugging the headphones into the headphone jack of the speakers if they have a headphone jack or try a set of powered headphones out of the Edirol and see if it helps.

That should remedy the problem.

Can't Get To Advanced Options

XP updating to SP1 seems a little odd in february of 2008, why not SP2?

To get into your BIOS you need to hold down escape key as you turn your laptop on and keep it held down until it reports an error, then press F1 to check BIOS. You can actually alter BIOS from within the OS environment with Toshiba laptops through a utility called HWSetup and I suspect that's where your problem lies.

Make sure your audio device is enabled in BIOS and if you need to re-install HWSetup you can find it here:

Hope this helps,

erch.

Toshiba Tecra 9100; "output device error" message

No sound? The only solution I've found is to get a USB headset like the Logitech USB Headset 20. I have had this same problem with my Tecra 9100 for almost 6 months. I tried on a pair of USB Headset and it works! because it bypasses your internal soundcard. The downside is that if you have a great pair of speakers on your laptop, then it's kind of a waste that you can never use it. But at least, with this, you can now listen to CDs and chat on the internet
