Sony CFD-E95L disassembly

Sony CFD-E95L
The tape player keys have been jambed and I need to get the unit apart to free them. I have removed all 7 screws i can see but the thing wont come apart. i dont know if there's one in the tape player compartment (which of course wont open), but it doesnt seem to be stuck there.
Anyone help please?
The E95 is similar, and I believe the E90 and E75 are too.

hi thanks v much for your help. i'm not sure exactly how to reply to you other than by adding to the thread so i hope you see this. i've removed all the screws i need to to get the 2 parts of the shell apart, and had to remove the aerial as well, whose screw is incorrectly marked "battery", so now just need to get the cassette unit off. regards lenina.

There are 11 screws that need to be removed: Bottom - 2 on both sides of the word "ATTENTION"; 2 on the outer edge at the three and nine o'clock positions; 3 under the handle; 2 in the CD player compartment; and 2 in the upper left and right corners of the cassette compartment.

A cassette has jammed inside my vcr machine. It will not move forward or backward Can yoy please help

Hello,

Since the tape won't come out then it means you will have to manually remove the stuck tape. This involves you disassembling the unit in order to help/assist the player get the stuck tape out.

Turn of the unit and remove from the wall, get a Philip screw driver, use it to remove all the screws from the unit and take it apart.

Open the cover and you will see the stuck tape and what's hooking or preventing it from coming out/ejecting.

Now plug the unit, and turn it on. Press the eject button, as the tape tries to come out, support it with your hand so that it can come out.

Or if it happen that the cassette tape has coiled inside the unit, carefully free the coiled tape and the press the eject button.

Lastly, the moment you disassemble the player, you would see what's preventing it from coming out, then you can free whatsoever that is making it stuck press the eject button and the tape should come out.

Make sure the unit is turned off each time you want to remove what's making the cassette stuck.

I hope understand the above explanations.

Good luck.

CD player says "no disk" when there is disk in player.

Get a CD Cleaner and check your electric current output to make sure it matches the voltage requirement.

If the CD Cleaner doesnt work, then replace your CD Lens

When I press play, my tape player eats the tape.

that means that the uptake wheel is not turning. typically this is caused by a rubber band that is insde the transport mechanism that connects the motor to the wheel.

if you are comfortable taking the device apart, you will need to find the right band and just pop it on.
