Question about Compaq Presario M2000 Notebook
I'm *trying* to hook up an external monitor - I see the port on the side (not the back) but when I plug in the monitor - Nothing. I know the monitor works, I was just using on my desktop. there's no where to screw the pins in. One alternative is a USB converter (I'm now using an expansion dock) but they're expensive, and I thought I could do this. I re-read some of the other solutions and am not sure how to "enable external monitor"
Any help is much appreciated!
If you go to your control panel then to display properties, not sure what windows calls it, go into properties with the monitor connected to your side port you spoke of, from there you should be able to set up the display for both ports, or alternately you can press Function F2, this will toggle thru the display settings between the built in display and the external.
