Question about Mitsubishi WD-62725 62" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

Poor picture quality, pixilation, and diminished number of colors

I have a Mitsubishi WD-73727 about 18 months old.  For the last two months, the picture quality degrades after about 30 minutes.  It is as if the number of colors are changes from millions to just a few hundred - almost as if the picture was compressed to a lower quality.  This problem is present on all devices I use - whether run through an A/V receiver or direct.  I have not changes the bulb since I purchased the unit.

Really did not help.  Replaced the bulb.  Picture still pixilated.  Faces turn blue, colors are off.  All this occurs after tv has been on 45 minutes.

I had the exactly the same issue, even thou the bulb replacement was found to be unnecessary, the problem was solved when i took the bottom rear panel out, Either the fans are not working properly or the ventilations filters are an issue. Since i havent got any problems, i left the panel out. So far its been 4 months without any head aches.

I have the same t.v. it's called solarization, caused by failed color engine, (the engine in on nationwide back order cause this part of tv. is faulty from factory) cost 1800 bucks but here is the good news, contact mitisubishi the are trying to get a class action suit filed against them and they will give you a list of repair people in your area to get it fixed and they will pay for the part and the labor (but again you will be out of tv for a month most likely) if they take longer than that keep calling and buging them they keep a record of all your calls and they now waranty those tv. (weither you bout extended waranty or not for 3 years)

How do you do a convergence on the wd73286?

Hi,
Mitsubishi WD-73286 is DLP tv that does not have any convergence circuit inside.
Convergence is required in old model rear projection tv that has three basic colors picture tubes to generate color picture that projected on front screen of tv.
DLP tv has light engine to generate picture, it is similar to multimedia projector that throws its picture on wall.
Hope this info will help.
Thanks.

The TV keeps saying no signal with no picture but it does have sound. and it is less than a month old.

If you check the HDMI connector there may be a poor contact otherwise it looks like an under warranty repair is called for from the dealer it was purchased from.
Hope it's the lead.

Mitsubishi wd-73736 bulbs buzzing noise

The Ballast that ignites the Lamp could cause the Lamp to fail and/or cause a buzzing noise. That being said, the Color Wheel in the Optical Block assembly could also cause a similar symptom. If Mitsubishi would be willing to help with the Lamp cost, I would call a local Mitsubishi repair facility to install it and see if the noise is still there and find out exactly what is causing it. Mitsubishi Customer Service Phone number is 1800-332-2119.
I hope this helps,
