Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P100 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Will not focus

Everytime I turn my camera on I cannot get a clear photo or anything. It's like the lens won't focus - I cannot zoom in or zoom out. When I try to turn the camera off the camera struggles to get the lens in - I have to push the lens in for it to actually close. If I turn it off with pushing the lens in and turn it back on again the black screen says "Turn the power off and on again." Also when the camera is "working" the screen as a blinking "E:61:00". Help!

My Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P71 camera is doing the same thing. What does E:61:00 mean? Is that an error? If so, where do I find out what to do about it? Is my camera too old already? I tried reformatting and resetting, but the camera still blinks and doesn't focus. The zoom button isn't working at all. Til now, I've really liked my camera.

First Send me your camera's model (Brand Name)

Some digital and analog camera in these days has features to manualy set the focus in our wish.
Try to disable this feature. And try not to poke or push the lens of the camera. By doing this you may destroy the lens.

And try to reformet the mem stick + try to reset the camera.
(Everything will be resetted, "it will be as if you have a new camera")

Digital zoom and micro focus won't work

Different scene modes allow for different functions. I rarely use them due to this. You have to set the scene mode to take a normal photo. Meaning in Fireworks scene mode you cannot take macro photos because the lens is focused to infinity already and is locked this way.

You also may have some problems with material in your lens. (I am not sure) If you get your scenes straightened out and it still does not work I would suggest searching for lens error and look for solutions there.

Aperture ring won't turn

When the camera is set to autofocus, let the camera do the focusing. If you want to focus manually, turn off the autofocus so you can turn the focusing ring.

Just a thought - are your Image Stabilizer and Auto Focus switches On or Off?
Might be worth experimenting with them.
Otherwise, sorry, can't help.

Everytime I take a picture it turns out blurry

Inside the lens their is a focus motor that has to be perfectly set if it get out of ajustment this will cause a blurry image it you try to zoom some times you may get a lens error this is because the lens has been obstructed from the inside by the focus lens. the lens eather needs to be replaced or rebuilt.you may find a broke one off ebay with a good lens pretty cheap if you are going to try and repair it your self.
