USB adapter does not go in the USB port on my computer. Seems like it's the wrong size.

go to your control panel & delete the printer, shut down & restart turn the printer on after restart see if the computer sees the printer if not try reinstalling if this doesn't work possibly the adaptor

First determine that the USB port isn't dead. Do other things work in that USB port? If the answer is yes we know it's not the port. Have you tried another USP port? If it doesn't work in another port (or on another computer's USB port) then it's the adapter itself.

Adapters can go bad. USB ports usually work and don't go out. The exception is that many laptops that come with several USB ports sometimes have one (or more) that never did work.

Try it on another computer. This is one last step to determine if the adapter itself is dead and that it isn't something on/with your computer.

It also could be that the computer has the old USB 1 port and the adapter needs USB 2. (USB 1 was slower).

What unit do you have? The USB port on the Garmin is to use to update your Garmin to your computer.....thats a USB to Mini usb cable

The only other USB port that would I could see is the USB that connects the Cigarette lighter adapter plug that goes into the windshield mount / bean bag holder for Garmin

Please do not use the USB Extension cable that came with the adapter and instead connect the adapter directly to the computer on USB port. You may try connecting it to a diffrent USB port. Otherwise, please update the drivers for the adapter from the below link:

The memory card you have is for a USB2 configuration and the USB port configuration or port you are using is USB1 configuration.
Try a different port or check the manual for port layout or description.

Connect the adapter on your computer then check the status of the device under the device manager. It should appear under Network adapters or USB Devices. double clikt its icon and look the device status. if you have the drivers installed successfully and you have tried it on different USB port, youmay try installing on another computer to further isolate the problem. If problem persist after installing it on another computer then it only means that there is something wrong with the device.

It appears that your USB hard disk is drawing power that exceeds what the computer's USB port can deliver.
If your USB drive has a power adapter, connect it to your USB drive before you connect it to the computer's USB port.
If your USB drive does not have a power adapter/connector then you need to insert your USB drive into a USB hub that is powered from the mains adapter. Connect this hub to your computer's USB port first and then connect the USB drive into the powered hub.

If none of this works then it is possible that you have a faulty hard drive. If possible test this drive in a computer, use a old computer.

you will need to install the usb drivers for the pc to read the adapter, go to the lg site and have that done

turn off monitor of, wireless, so that windows wireless zero is your adapter the installed adapter dose not work as good as windows.restart your computer. if you try another port always restart after plugging it in a new usb port. I had the same problem. also you might have to uninstall and reinstall. then down load the latest updates.
