Question about Kenwood DNX7100 Car Video Player

DNX7100 microphone I love my Kenwood DNX7100, and have my bluetooth phone paired to it. The problem is that the factory microphone is so poor, that my callers request that I go to the phone. This defeats the safety originally envisaged. Is there a way I can pair my phone to the 7100, but have a bluetooth earpiece to get away from the factory microphone?

I've been told that the phone calls seem noisy and not very clear when using the bluetooh mic as well. I'm curious to know if some foam over the mic would help the situation. It would help to soften the sound. Now to find some foam.

I dont have the Kenwood player, but my factory car navigation has the same problem. I've been told to try another phone. Nokia and Samsung have been told to have the best results. So if that does work and you do want to use the option, then you might have to get a new phone.

I have not had the chance to do so, but my unit has three little holes in form of a triangle. I think the easiest thing to do is just make a bigger opening and have more sound travel inside with less sound resistance.

Lastly, if you are a bit more handy, and have some extra time. I think I will take appart the unit, get to the microphone circuit and adjust the sensitivity. If sensitive can not be adjusted, I will find another microphone, or remove the microphone from the unit and neatly extend it to the steering wheel column. A bare microphone at a closer distance will definitely pick up the sound. By the way, I can do this, b/c my unit is inside and flush with the dash. Kenwood DNX probably has a moving screen, which will not alow you to extend the microphone. But you can always expand the hole, just be careful not to drill too far or too big. Plus keep in mind your warantee will be voided.

I have dnx7100 and I can't get my iphone 3g to work with it. Is there something I can do to make it work?

If you are trying to use the phone handsfree then you will need to get the bluetooth module. If you are trying to use your phone like an iPod then you will need to use the line-in jack and not the iPod usb kit. The unit does not support the iPhone, only the iPod. You will just have to control the music straight from your phone. I do however use the usb port as a charger for my iPhone.

I have a Kenwood DNX7100 car stereo with bluetooth connection capability. The unit lost information on my Samsung U540 integration. Manual suggests hitting "Select" under the Setup Menu but this button...

First of all do you have a bluetooth kit for your head unit? if so ensure it is plugged in correctly. if it is, then you need to activate bluetooth on your phone and make it visible to other devices, once this is done search from the phone for the bluetooth on the head unit. It should read BT100 or similar. Once it has found it all you need to do is pair them normally using the code 1234.

Hope this helps

Charge the headset for at least 24 hours to reset it and that should delete the link key, then try re-pairing.

Kenwood 7100 dnx7100 .... bluetooth address book limitations??

yeah, I'm having Bluetooth trouble too... didn't know it has a 300 address limit??!! that's dumb. I agree, for a high end piece like this, I'd think it'd be a bit better. My problem is that my address book (which I sent to the unit one by one...) sometimes is there, sometimes is not. Kinda frustrating. Anyone know how to get your address book to be recognized all the time??

I'm sure you know this, but in order to send your contacts to the Bluetooth, you first have to disconnect the device through your phone. Then you can send them one by one. A guy at Car Toys says that the Lenwood unit is notoriously difficult with the address book situation... hope it helps.

Navigation sound

If all of the other speakers work properly, it is because that is the way you have it configured. Go into setup and change the configuration. For instance, the bluetooth phone speaker is set up for the right front speaker by default so as to not get a feedback loop with the microphone.
