Question about Westinghouse LTV-37WI 37 in. LCD Television

1 Answer

Picture clarity My westinghouse occassionally has red and green "snow". I've tried uprading cables to HDMI and resetting factory settings with no difference. The problem comes & goes and usually if I turn off or unplug the tv for a few minutes it goes away, but usually comes back within an hour.

Sounds heat circuit related, and if under warranty you should notify them before you have to pay for the tuner or sync board.

It appears that the Main bd is bad. Try using Component cables instead of the HDMI cables and see if there is a change. If there is a change to normal picture then try another HDMI cable. If the problem returns then replace the Main bd. There three Main bds for this basic model number. You will need the version# found on the right side of the set to order the correct bd.

HDMI port not working

I have the same problem - its a HDCP handshake issue. Sony says the firmware in the Westinghouse TV needs to be updated - Westinghouse says that they have firmware updates for some models depending on your TV's serial number, otherwise they are working on firmware updates for the rest of us that should fix the problem. Call Westinghouse to see if you can get updated.

My 42" Westinghouse HDMI inputs just stopped working. I thought it was the TW Explorer 4250HDC issue so I got a new one from TW. Still said no signal from HDMI. So, I shut the TV down and pulled the power cord out of the back. I waited a few seconds and reconnected the pwr cord. The TV "re-booted" so to say and now the HDMI inputs work. I think TVTEK has the right idea that it is firmware/software related. In the mean time, you might want to give that a try.
