Question about Canon PIXMA iP3000 InkJet Photo Printer

1 Answer

Canon pixma ip3000

I've had my printer for 2 years. I've recently replaced all carts as I have done previously. I am getting a line through sentences where black ink is not printing. I've cleaned, deep cleaned , bottom clean, removed the carts, cleaned around all nozzles to no effect. Any suggestions? Thanks

I had a paper jam, I cleared it but it was not printing. I did the routine of turning off, holding the Resume button, then with the ON button, releasing the Resume button, pressing Resume button 4 times, turning off, then turning back on.

This helped to produce some print, but there are still lines in the odd paragraph not printing.

Black is not printing but the other colours are. Done all the routine cleaning, turning off and on, re-setting, unistalling, reinstalling, cleaning nozzels, buying new cartridges and so on and still no black only other colours. I haven't used my printer in awhile though probably in over a year. But don't understand why it's only effecting the black ink...

Please someone help it's driving me bonkers doing and redoing the troubleshooting.

After replacing ink cartridges (were completely out previously), ink still not coming through

Have you tried the cleaning / deep cleaning maintenance options?
If this is on a windows computer, under the printers and faxes section you should see the IP3000. Right click on the icon then click on properties then maintenance. Give that a try. How long did the carts sit empty?

The printer does not work correct in black

If the cartridge isn't empty ... have you tried the cleaning / deep cleaning options on the printer's maintenance section?

Start / Printers / right click on the IP3000 / click on Properties / then Maintenance tab. Try cleaning and report back.

Also I've had problems with recent Brand X cartridges from China not venting properly. After removing the tape on top of the cart and pin holing the vents they work.... without that ink doesn't migrate into the chamber that feeds the printhead.

Sounds like a clogged print head. Have you tried cleaning the print heads?

From your printer's setup page, click on the "Maintenance" tab and select "Deep Cleaning". Then click on "Execute." When the confirmation window comes up, click on "OK". The cleaning cycle starts when the power lamp begins to blink.

Don't try doing anything else with the printer until the cleaning cycle is done...it takes about a minute.

Hope that's helpful.

I replaced all ink cartridges in my Canon Pixmo ip3000 but it still will not print correctly. The printer was not used in a while what would the problem be and can it be repaired at a resonable cost

Have you run the printer maintenance options of "cleaning" or "deep cleaning". Is this a Canon cart or a brans X import The brand X black carts I've purchased recently have been bad about allowing ink into the area that feeds the printhead and I've had to punch a few needle holes in areas that seem to need venting to get them to work.

How to take apart Cannon PIXMA iP3000 to clean the waste absorber

You need to replace the ink absorber kit and to completely disassemble the printer to replace the absorber. Attempting to clean the ink absorber is not recommended. Self servicing the absorber can be a very messy operation. I would check with a Canon repair center to see what the cost to have the servicing done by a trained technician. In some cases, it is cheaper to replace the printer.

Most likely the the ink carts are low or you have a one defective cart. Do steps in sequence
1. Reseat carts 2. Reset the printer. 3. Rpl carts one at a time till you find the defective one.
