Error code 200

Sorry. It says your hard drive is dead. Here's the error codes linkat Lenovo. I haven't had that problem but what I would do is unplug it and take out the battery for a few minutes and try again. Right after it is turned on, holding down on the f8 key should take it into SAFE MODE. It's also possible the the hard drive wiggle loose somehow.
It's your's to fix or break. If it's under warranty go that route first.

It's solution is to:

  1. Remove and reinstall the hard drive
  2. Run the BIOS Setup Utility and Load Setup Defaults
  3. Hard drive
  4. System board

when I used their troubleshooting guide it said:

Lenovo:Now, based on what you told me I understand that:
  • You want help with errors and viruses
  • You want help with error messages
  • You want help with error hdd
Lenovo:If you receive error hdd, you will need to get a replacement hard drive. To do so you will need to contact the contact center to arrange for a onsite support.

System recovery error

WOW, once again the recovery fails when you need it most. I don't understand why the manufacturers don't just give you a CD with the operating system and one with the Recovery when you purchase a system like they did years ago.

Did this error occur on a recovery image that you made (Cd's) or was it from using the Recovery Partition on the hard disk drive that the manufacturer set up? Either way, I think your best option is to just reinstall windows.

I have a leading edge laptop...horizon w100. when i turn it on it tells me the cmos is not set but it wont let me use the f2 button to reset it

You don't say which Operating System you use, so my answer will be presented in general, Windows terms. If yours is a non-Windows Operating System and my answer seems to be of some relevance to you, please consider applying the logic and principles involved here to your own Operating System and, if in doubt, please feel free to add a Comment or Clarification to this Question. Please include information about the type, model and specification of your computer and its Operating System. Doing so helps us makes faster, more accurate and more assured Remote Diagnostics leading to better quality and more useful Advice, Answers, Guidelines , How-Tos and Solutions.

You do not necessarily need to go into BIOS simply because of a BIOS Setup Error message during the POST Screen. The same screen that shows you the Error Message should also give you a function key code. You have mentioned one such Code - F2 in order to go into the BIOS Setup Screen. But there should also be other options such as F1, to instruct the BIOS, to ignore the Error Message, bypass the BIOS and Boot into the Operating System.

When you are on the Desktop of the Operating System, you can Right Click on the Clock and set the Time, Date and Regional Time Zone Settings there (exactly the same as you would have been doing if you had been able to enter BIOS at POST.

If it is a Password holding you up at POST and the Laptop will neither go into BIOS nor Boot at the POST Screen, then the only way around this is to either enter the correct password of to dismantle it and disconnect and reconnect the CMOS battery inside, reassemble the laptop and then try again

I hope this helps.

Error 05-0172-045D

i googled the error code you stated. most are saying this is a bad hard drive on Toshiba. seems to be VERY common. one site said it was a bad capacitor on the motherboard, but again, most say hard drive. if it is still under warranty then you can send it back. if you Google the error code just as you have written it you will see how common this is. there are a lot of offered fixes but none have worked. only answer is to send it back or put in a new hard drive yourself. Sorry

I have a IMB think pad T22 and when I start it up it always says a disk read error occured

Might want to check your boot sequence. I suspect it's reading either CD drive (or floppy drive) prior to your Hard disk drive. Make sure to empty contents in that drive prior to boot up so as to avoid the errors (harmless errors though)

I have several 600's and they all have the same issue. They are giving 161 192 163 errors. I replaced the battery in them and then go to try and setup the time. However, instead of letting me set the...

161 = CMOS configuration lost (battery has died).

163 = CMOS error; Clock is not updating.

192 = System fan is faulty, not plugged into the system board or the system board itself is faulty.

Whe you replaced the RTC (real time clock/BIOS battery) did you make sure that the CPU fan was working?

If it is then go back into the BIOS and reset it to defaults. Save the changes and reboot, then go back into the BIOS and try to set the time and date.
