My wife had the same problem with her treadmill. I turned the beast on it's side, and unscrewed the plastic casing that houses the motor, computer, and all the electronics to the treadmill. I unplugged the incline/decline motor. Then on the bottom of the treadmill the long threaded rod that causes the incline needed to be moved. So I unbolted it from the catch, and manually screwed the rod back in with a wrench. Now the treadmill works fantastically, of course the incline/decline mechanism has been disabled, but I would rather have a treadmill with the incline disabled than have one always on 100% incline. My issue was a string stuck in incline sensor. The bed of the treadmill sheds string. I turned the power off, unplugged it,took off the top casing, and inside on the right (if youre standing on the bed) look down and you will see a black tube. Make sure nothing is stuck in the small black wheel on the tube. I removed the string and it works just fine now.

If console lights up but doesnt respond when buttons are pressed, you more than likely have a console problem. Key pad issue would be my best guess.

I know it's been months, but, if you still have this problem try this: 1. remove the philips screws holding the motor/belt/electronics cover on: you can lay the whole thing on it's side and remove them from the bottom. there's two in the front and two on the sides.
2. Obviously, unplug the unit! before doing anything. lay the unit back on it's feet (normal position)
3. Find the incline motor assembly. it will be int he middle of everything. black tube thingy.
4. take a cordless drill with a flat head screw driver bit, and turn the incline motor CCW. until the bed is flat.
5. what what I have read, you should shop for a new incline sensor. these fail before the motor does.

You have 1,2 or maybe 3 problems. 1st is you need to remove the cover over the motor. The belt that the motor turns may be slipping. You need to loosen the bolt that keeps the tension on the drive belt. Push down to tighten manually and then tighten bolt. While your in there you should check the drive belt for wear. If you have used the treadmill a lot it may need replacement. $20 from readmilldocter.com The walking belt if badly worn can be replaced for like $99 but probably is fine. put all back together and tighten tension. Should be able to lift walking belt 3 to 4 inches from center sides. Any less and its too tight. Its probably better to just replace the drive belt anyway. This should work. Do not over tighten ever. This is the cause of most problems.

Sound like function pad or upper console I don't know if you can purchase the function pad, but you may have to purchase the entire console and that may quite expensive.

If everything on the display console is working correctly then we know it is either a problem with the wires from the console to the controller or the controller itself. In most cases this means you need a new controller. To verify, take off the motor hood and find the green circuit board called the motor controller. With the power on go into manual mode and push the speed up button to a slow speed. If you see an LED light with "spd ctrl" next to it flickering but the belt still does not move then we know the problem is with the controller sending the signal to the walking belt, in which you should check the wires that go to the motor. If they are connected correctly then we know a new controller is in order. If you do not see a flickering light then it means the speed signal never got there and the problem will be with the wires going from the console to the controller. This is called an upright wire harness.
