Re: TV on But no Sound
Go into the yamaha's menu and re-assign the inptus in the input assign menu. if the audio from the TV is comming from a sat box follow the audio cable to the receiver. there is a number on the input (like number 3 ect...) then assign that number input the name TV.

if you have 2 tiny screw drivers, if not, the tips of a butter knife might be skinny enough, you can try to insert them a wee bit into both sides of the tray and pry outward, carefully of course, and unjam the tray
Turn off zone 2 then turn your receiver on the main zone on Radio, tune in a station and check for audio. Post a comment and let me know if audio works that way. If you don't have any audio, list your other equipment makes and models as well as how they are interconnected to your receiver (cable type) and I will help you troubleshoot
You need to have an input audio source on your receiver such as a DVD player or ipod. The radio is an internal source that is why yo uare hearing sound from it. One thing you could do is run a cable from the audio out jacks on your television to an input on the receiver, and then when you are watching TV select the input you put the cables in to hear the television sound through your receiver speakers.
I would suggest you try a hard reset of the receiver by unplugging it from the wall to power it down completely for 30mins, then fire it up again. If it has just been a bit scrambled, then this should cure it.
