Unplug the TV for 30 minutes. Then plug & unplug 3 or 4 times quickly. After the last plug in the remote should work. We had the same problem and that fixed it.

My remote control for Haier tv stopped working, despite good batteries

Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check by pressing all the buttons on it; and see whether all of it generates infrared signal while pressing. If it is found OK, check and replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It has details about how to check a remote control; by one among the post. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. If the remote control is found OK; check and replace the infra-red sensor inside the TV. Contact any service technician.

Today the tv remote just stopped working. No off/on,No reaction of any button.batteries are fine.TV only works from the side panel.Idon't know where the remote sensor is located on the tv to clean it...

To confirm if the remote control has been working fine, point directly the infrared emitter to your cellphone camera, while pressing any button key at the remote control, you will see the flash of an infrared indicating that the remote control has been working. Click this LINK for more info.
Let me know if you see the infrared flashing.

Remote doesn't control. batteries are good, but there is no apparent connection between the remote and the TV. It is in use with a Comcast turner-DVR, which works fine, but I have to turn on and adjust...

Are you using Comcast remote to control the TV? When you program the Comcast remote to control your TV, it will do two functions: on/off, and Volume control. The Comcast can also be programmed not to control the volume of the TV (TV volume will have to be set at about mid level manually, then the Comcast box will send out variable sound level to the TV), just on/off ONLY.

Wont power up via remote

Hello aadams64,

The photo diode might be defective in this TV. I would suggest that you get a schematic and voltmeter to measure the bias voltages and the signals involved in the use of the IR control. This will let you know if the control is working. I would suggest that you get a qualified TV technician to look at your set and troubleshoot it because of the possibility of damage that may occur if you should make a mistake while trying to troubleshoot the problem.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

My Sharp Aquos TV has stopped responding to remote control(s)

Unplugging my TV for 15 seconds (longer actually - at least a minute) made the remote and the satellite TV remote both work again with the TV.  Thanks for the tip!

Vizio 50 inch plasma -- remote not working

You can also try to take out the batteries and push all of the buttons with the batteries out of the remote. Then put the batteries back in and push the power button on the remote. If this doesnt work press the two TV buttons at the same time and the remote should be fine.
