Question about Compaq CV 7500 17" CRT Monitor

1 Answer

Pink-hued display from the start, the display and sound was okay, no problem. although i am not sure but i guess my sister played around with the computer. now, my monitor has a pink-hued display instead of the "white" colored display. the colors are muted and it seems dark. i have tried working on the contrast and brightness but still it has a pink-hue. help me please...

Check the cable going into the back of your monitor and the cable from your monitor into your computer, one of them is most likely loose.

How do you make the sound work ? Hannspree Monitor HF237

When you have a monitor that has built-in speakers, you must hook that monitor to your computer with a cable--the type of sound cable any other speakers have. It has a male jack on each end. One end goes into the little sound in hole in the back of the monitor. The other goes into the green hole on your sound card (either the built-in card or an add-on card).
Another thing to check is to see that the sound drivers are working. You know they are if the computer had sound that played through other speakers. If you hook it all up and there is no sound, then you most likely have a sound driver problem (or your sound is muted!)

If this explanation helps, be sure to rate the answer, please.

LCD display turns pink then goes off

You may be blaming the wrong device. I suggest you try the monitor with another system, the problem you describe could be located in the video output of your system instead of a monitor fault.

Pink tint on Dell 1704FPT Flatpanel LCD

Unfortunately if you have tried a different machine (it could be a bad video card) and tried the cables most likely it is the screen itself. Typically when one of these lcd's begin to fail the pixles no longer access the blue field and you see mostly red instead of the other two colors. In short pink screen is terminal, it will last for a while longer.

Screen turn into pink (light rise color)

if you have the skill for take off the cover, take off the metal shield and cables until you reach the CRT board, have a 100watt light on,a solder hot iron in one hand and a few rings of tin in the other, obviously take off the plug and left it over a few meters, and waited a few minutes to give some capacitors discharge time,.............it's easy !!! resolder the joints that like dark, mainly see the big transistors,(or IC)that have like rings on it's pins, and thats all. I tell you its easy okay then you have to "rebuild" your monitor back.

Monitor shuts down and glows pink

You could try updating the drivers for your monitor and for you video card. It sounds like their could be a hardware problem. When something warms/heats up the connection is made. A pink glow isn't a good thing. Make sure you check all cables and even try to adjust the actual monitor settings Your heat settings for the colors may be out of whack. Last question? Does slapping it a little help? Good Luck. Let me know what happens. Tim
