I just turned my DVD player off when my STR-DE545 was still in DVD input mode and it came up LOCKED, maybe the input that you are using is not receiving a signal?

No sound out put on both speakers

There can be at least a half dozen reasons for this. Check the simple stuff first starting with the mute button and volume control. Check that the input selection is for the component you want to operate, and then that the component is properly connected to the receiver.

No sound coming from Sony Receiver STR-DG510?

Sounds like you are pretty close with this one. If you select fm tuner do you get audio. If not you may have the speakers on the wrong a-b setting. Make sure the audio from your cable box is not muted or turned down.

Receiving "Unlock" message and "Not Used" on my reciever

The HDMI inputs are pass through inputs only. The reciever cannot recieve any sound signals through the HDMI's. The reciever acts as a selector switch for the HDMI inputs. Whatever input you have selected on the reciever is the one that is being sent through the output to your TV. The "unlock" display shows when there is no sound signal sent to the reciever. There is no code to unlock. This is the reciever's way of telling you that there is no sound being sent to it from that input. Since there is no sound being processed from the HDMI's, you need to hook up an additional audio cable from the device to the reciever (preferrably an optical cable). When the reciever recieves an audio signal, it will then "unlock" and you will get sound. The only purpose for the HDMI jacks on this reciever is to give you a bonus HDMI jack so you only have to use one on your TV. I know it is confusing. I had to look into this problem myself, so I'm happy to help. Higher end recievers will actually recieve and process sound signals from the HDMI's.

Sony STR-DE825 Receiver Digital "Noise"

Make sure you have fib/opt cables are securely inserted in right ports. Switch through "input modes" on front panel; opt, anal, auto. This unit is tricky and unecessarily complicated. Read through manual carefully!

Phono input

I am not really familar with this receiver but almost all phonograph must go into a phono in. Due to the fact that a phonograph does not have whats called a pre amplifier. generally the receivers have a phono in and that input has an more sensitive amplifier cicuit in the input. That is why if you plug it in to something else unless it has a preamplifier the sound will be real soft. I think Radio Shack sells a amplifier you plug the Phonograph into one side and the other side into the receiver then you can use any input you choose.
