Pioneer PDP-5060HD 50 in. Plasma Television Logo
Posted on Jan 05, 2010

My pioneer plasma PDP 5060HD Media Center control box has red blinking light, blinking once every second. No power to plasma display and unable to power on media center box. Recycled power to both plasma and media box but did not correct the problem. Don't know what the problem is ?

Lenwas,
I have the exact same problem with the same model tv. It just stopped working, tv has no lights or evidence of power and the red standby light on the media center flashes without any other function potential.
I checked the internal tv fuse and it was measuring continuity.
If you figure anything out I'd be interested to hear it.

This Really sounds like a BAD compactor or multiple on the power board. Start by checking for compactors bulging at the top. Replace and this should resolved the issue

Hi, I have a Pioneer Plasma and PDP-R06G Media

The Media Receiver is the tuner/connector selector box.
If the top is removed the Media Box goes into shut down mode. It requires resetting by a Pioneer Authorised Service tool.

Pioneer PDP-436PU TV blinks red 10 times

Most likely a bad power supply board= you are going to have to find a Pioneer dealer to get it fixed or even get the part--many shops including the one I work for will not touch this brand of set.

Plasma Display Starting Up

Could be heat build up in the Plasma display unit. Make sure it has the correct space around it for proper ventilation. Also count the number of blinks on the power indicator it is a code for the reason the unit shut down. On the Pioneer PDP-5060HD I have I was getting 12 blinks on the indicator which indicated a tuner issue. Check your instruction book for info on the over heating problem if it continues. You may have a fan out.

PLASMA DISPLAY STARTING UP. PLEASE WAIT

Un plug the power to the Plasma Screen and also to the Media Receiver for ten minutes. Disconnect the off the air antennas both A and B. After ten minutes plug in the plasma screen then the media receiver and turn on wi the remote control. You should now be back in operation. I was.
Also It may not be a bad digital tuner. The TV Guide feature is active even when the zip code is set to all 0s so if you have an over the air antenna attached the TV will look for the TV Guide info and if it can not find it because of a weak signal or the chanel it is tuned to does not carry that information the TV thinks that tuner does not work which triggers the 12 flashes. Also on power up the gray box with the waring message "Plasma Display Starting Up, Please Wait" appears and the screen is blank.
