Question about Hoover F6212-900 / F6215-900 SteamVac Agility Upright Vacuum
I know this machine is old, but until now is in great condition, as I did not use it a lot. I gave it to my daughter and within 2 weeks she called and said it is very noisy. I had it brought home, and noisy isn't a good word to describe it. You can not use it, it is that loud. She has changed the belt, and the rollers are moving. It does pick up but it is so loud you could wake up anyone within a mile. Please help! I can't afford to buy her a new one right now. =:(
If there is a lot of vibration along with the noise, then unfortunately the impeller inside that creates the suction has probably lost a blade or two and is now out of balance. Sucking up coins and other hard objects will do that is a hurry. If not, then there may be something stuck in the impeller. In either case, you will need to get to the motor itself and either remove whatever is stuck there or break off an even number of blades on the opposite side of where they are missing to balance things out. Think of how your washing machine acts when it's out of balance. It the same idea, only 100 times faster.
Unfortunately, this is most likely something that requires someone to take it apart.
Hope this helps, and please rate my answer, good or bad.
Thanks, and good luck!
