Let me just say this I have had many dealings with this printer type.

Before we start what needs to be done is that the two little filters under the printer carts need to be cleaned as well as the two little rubber parts housing the filters; wash these in water (after taking out of the printer) the filters should come up white-ish.

Also make sure that while you have the filters out to clean in and around that area with a cloth / tissues something to absore excess ink. After you clean this however you still need to service resert your printer.

The method for doing so is worded very badly on alot of sites so I will explain my way.

(1) have your printer power down ie. off, just to make sure pull the plug out and wait 10 seconds.

(2) plug printer back in, now Hold down the Stop/Reset button don't let go.
(2a) push and hold the on/off button

----at this point both fingers are holding down the buttons.----

(3) take your finger of Stop/Reset, pause maybe a second now press stop/reset button once and then press again and hold.

--- both fingers at this point are hold down both buttons----

(4) take your finger off on/off and now finally take your finger off stop reset.

---wait for the printer to go into its service mode ie. wait maybe 30 secs a min whatever till the printer carage has moved back into ints original spot.

---after this has occoured you should be able to press Stop/reset to cycle though the options

each time you press Stop/Reset Alarm and on/off should alternate lighting up. Hope this helps.

0 time Green Power off
1 time Orange Service pattern print (auto teste)
2 times Green EEPROM print (dados da EEPROM)
3 times Orange EEPROM reset (EEPROM reset)
4 times Green Waste ink counter reset (Absorvente reset)

service mode. (Waiting for menu selection)
4) When the LED lights in green, press the Stop/Reset button the specified number of time(s) according to the
function listed in the table below.(Each time the Stop/Reset button is pressed, the LED lights alternately in
orange and green, starting with orange.)

Varianta II:

1. printer OFF, press RESET (first button on the right, marked with red and two dashes above);
2. hold RESET and press and then release POWER (ON);
3. continue to hold RESET and press PAPER button until it reaches A4 plain paper position;
4. release any button (now u should see orange 1 on the printer screen.

Comentari despre varianta II:
- the PAPER button is the black one - opposite to the + one.
- You said that you solved the code reset for the MP150. However, I couldn't follow your instructions because the first button to the right on my MP150 is the ON/OFF button. The STOP/RESET button on my printer has a red circle with a triangle inside. Is that the same in your MP150?

De incercat MP170:
1 power off.
2 hold stop/reset ,hold ON/OFF
3 release stop/reset, push stop/reset twice, quickly, then release ON/OFF
4 wait untill LCD display shows "Canon Idle",then push stop/reset four times, quickly
5 then push power twice, quickly
6 power off and power on.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Printer says ''waste Ink absorber is full'' see service center

This is what the manual says: Ink used for cleaning is absorbed in a waste ink absorber placed in the machine. Press [OK] to cancel the error so that you can continue printing. Once the waste ink absorber becomes completely full, printing cannot be done until the waste ink absorber is replaced.
Canon recommends to contact a Canon service representative as soon as possible.
