I have just bought the same product (SLM01 MP3 Player by Wharfedale). I have charged it for 8 hours and during that time I have put a lot of my music on the computer and then copied it into the folder for my MP3 player and guess what? When I unplugged it from the computer and switched my MP3 player on, I select music, and then I am greeted with "No File". Yet, I have just uploaded loads of songs and when I connect it to the computer these play fine but otherwise they do not. I am really unhappy as this is a 21st Birthday present and I bought it from Argos who told me I can't have my money back for it unless it is broke, and even then, they might not. This is so frustrating.

I had similar problem with my little baby 2gb wharfedale stick MP3. It seems it comes up as "no file" as the music doesnt go to where you would expect it to! its in there somewhere. Rip the instruction manual up, make a flask or coffee or tea, pack some sandwiches & sit down somewhere quiet for a few hours. Suggest you dont drink alcohol or you might end up throwing the MP3 against the wall. Only just discovered I can select albums on mine, now I have found the music. Good luck and hope you get it sorted.

File system error

File system error is almost impossible fix - you can try updating the firmware (if you actually have an iLo, it will be impossible to update the firmware - manufacturer no longer supports)

WHARFENDALE SLM01 2 GB Mp3- why are earphones so small?

a solution would be to buy a 3.5 to 2.5mm converter. Then you can use your decent earphones with the wharfedale

Wharfedale slm01 mp3 problem

Format it. I had this problem and it fixed it straight away.

Power it on,
Go to 8) Setup
Scroll to Sys Tools
Reset First, then select Format
Do a Complete format and thats it.

You will lose all your music and pictures but unfortunatelt thats the only fix for it.
