No power on (LCD27TV006HD)

The LCD TV has been working perfectly for twelve months without any problem. Turned it off completey at night and the next day on switching the set on the stand-by LED lit up and then on pressing the on button, all I got was the dreaded green LED blinking continuously, and nothing else. I left the set disconnected for twenty-four hours and tried again, with the same result. No sound or vision!

    Thanks Sweet_Rascal

The model is Bush LCD27TV006HD. The standby light flashes continuously every second, and does not stop. I have tried the 'smack test' - nothing. Do you know where I can obtain a repair manual for this TV?

Hi,

Does the standby light continue to blink? IF so, count the number of blinks and go to:

Continuous Blink Once A Second, No Pausing As Discussed Above---
No reply from the jungle IC301 (data bus is busy, shorted to ground or held high), IK video path is defective.

ONE Blink--- not used for the self-diagnosis

TWO Blinks---B+ over current protection (OCP) , unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 2 blink fault. Could be a short in the power supply of any of the circuits.

THREE Blinks---B+ over voltage protection (OVP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 3 blink fault. This is also a problem in the power supply circuit, check T603 and R672.

FOUR Blinks---No Vert. Deflection (V STOP), Screen goes to a single horizontal line then the video signal muted. Check IC1509, Q1505

FIVE Blinks---AKB circuit (AKB), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the C board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. Also unit be in IK blanking, try turning up screen slightly.

SIX Blinks---No Horizontal (H STOP), no raster, goes to the blinking self-diagnosis function immediately. Check C515 & 516 and the jungle IC, IC206.

SEVEN Blinks---High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check power supply regulation and horizontal circuits.

EIGHT Blinks---Problem with the audio (AUDIO), unit goes to standby and blinks the self-diagnosis code. Check IC406 audio amp, PS401 and 402.

That may help you decide what is going on.

In the long run you will probably need to have a tech take a look at it. The problem you describe is usually a serious matter that needs repair by a trained technician..

Goodluck,
Don't forget to rate me as fixya...

there are several things that need to take place for the lamp to turn on. first the color wheel needs to turn on ( if you can hear a whinning noise then this is fine) next the tv will send a signal to the lamp ballast to turn on, and the ballast needs the 130v dc supply from the power board ( simoly remove the lamp and reinstall the lamp door, turn tv on, and if you hear an arcing noise from the ballast you know this is fine too. the board that controls all of this is the dmd board. so if the color wheel works, ballast starts then i would replace the dmd board....
the lamp is bad. a quick way to check is to put your ear close to the bak of the set by the lamp door and have someone turn on the set. if you hear an arcing sound each time the set cycle, then the lamp is bad..the number for the lamp is on a small sticker on the side of the set by the lamp door. it is easily replaced and the instructions come with the new lamp..you would be best to get an original lamp from the company but there are replacements on the web

Hello there. I just bought a SONY KDLEX520 32inch TV yesterday. when i turned the tv on it was perfect, everything was great. Later on that night when i turned it off i just sat on my bed admiring it, but...

There's probably a bad capacitor in the power supply causing a transformer to hum. This will be a 125-195 dollar fix through a repair shop if you act like you know what you're talking about.

TV worked fine one night, next day screen is white.

The LCD Panel failed. There is no easy fix but try to get the T-Con board to fix the issue. However, this part is usually only available with the whole LCD Panel. This is usually the most expensive part in the TV and the whole TV needs to be taken apart to replace the panel.

Might be economically viable if you can find a place that carrys the T-con but Dynex parts are usually hard to find. The LCD Panel part alone will exceed the cost of the TV.

Power problems

Most likely the power supply. The part number is 270530 and cost around $130. You would need a volt meter to test.
