https://www.linksys.com/us/support-article?articleNum=143300 follow the article at the link. a WPS button on a wifi router allows you to connect a device and usually auto configures both ends with a pre-shared key you are allowed to do this because you have to be next to the router and push its button and the connection must complete within a short time period. so its a way of connecting without knowing the key(because its auto generated for you)

1. Login to the administrative page of your modem (https://192.168.1.1/)
2. Navigate to the 'Settings' tab
3. Select the 'WLAN' section
4. Select 'WLAN Basic Settings'
   1. SSID: This is the name of the wireless network
   2. WPA pre-shared key: This is the 'password'/pre-shared key
5. Click Apply

You will just have to reset your router if you forgot it.

You have to take the key from WLAN provider.

take the key off the bottom of your router and type it into the phone... its a security password

Try this

type 192.168.2.1 in your adress bar which will bring up your router settings then click on security on the left hand side which will show you your key

Type 192.168.0.2 in the web browser and hit enter. enterthe username and password of the router and hit enter. The default usename :leave blank and type admin in passord.

Click Wireless on the setup page and then click Wireless security. You will see the pre shared key encrypted there.

goto router log in page and in wireless settings remove encryption ,apply it then try connecting your device again.

The Pre-shared key is used to setup encryption on wireless routers.
The latest strongest encryption methods used is Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA and WPA2).
The wireless router is configured with WAP or WAP2, and the computer's wireless card is configured with the router's WAP or WAP2 encryption. The wireless router will now allow communication with the computer's wireless card, data transmitted between the router and computer is encrypted and therefore protected from unauthorized access.

Suggestion,

First, go to ur Router Configuration Page. There are 2 pg into related WireLess Configuration Settings. So u find ur problem into the WPA security configuration is under the wlan Security section, and then you select WPA PSK (Pre Shared Key) and TKIP encryption for Lan security. As well as changing the WPA Mode to enabled, u will need to enter a WPA Pre-Shared Key. So u found, which is a Network key and why to need.
