Hi,
I turned my TV on this morning (after it working fine last night) and instead of a picture there are vertical rainbow lines on the whole screen but I can hear the sound fine.
Can anyone help?
Hi there.its likely that the lower y-drive panel has died.this is a very common problem with this model.the easy way is to remove the panel from the set completely,power it up and you should be greeted with the top half of the picture.this means ic failure,usually the bottom one for some odd reason.not replaceable unless you have the gear,these ics are available from dalbani(nikkai)for those interested.be extra careful with the four ribbon cables when removing/refitting.damage to these writes off the display panel.hope this helps somewhat,regards,steve.
The screen on my TV lights up but there is no video signal. I have replaced all boards and still no video. I put the screen in a LGA TV and I have the same problem. I have audio but no screen video. Now I am at a loss. Is it possible that there is a defective screen?? Thsnks Ragan

Hi. Replace the lower Y driver PCB's and buffer board as well as the YSUS board. When you get the price of spares for a BIY job you may also consider the land fill option wher all plasmasmade by LG belong.
my lg 42in plasma tv also has rainbow lines on whole screen and the sound is ok just over 1 year old

Can anyone point me in the right direction to identify the faulty circuit board /part based on the description of my fault as this will allow me to buy & replace the part.
Picture illegible as very fine vertical lines down screen have color content & very faint picture in the background, I have attached 2 photos. The horizontal white lines come every time I turn it on then it slowly turns to a vertical rainbow as the 2nd pic shows.
Strange thing is after this fault arose it has returned to normal with a perfect picture on 3 occasions when I was messing about with the remote control, but that's been twice in about 100 times I tried it.
I am familiar with electronics and have checked all circuit boards with magnifying glass and cannot find any blown components.
I have also downloaded a service manual which shows you how to get the led to blink to sequences to id error codes but they are fast & hard to id the correct qty/sequence.

I think this lg tv is waste off money..
It worked for 2 months, then when I turned it on this morning there is no sound - the volume works on the screen but I hear nothing
