This is know as a diffusion issue. Most times this can be corrected with some minor alignment on the pots on the YSUS pwb. Sometimes the YSUS pwb has failed and will need to be replaced.

Directv can't connect my tv to he, what can I do, they say I need a green plug in in the back, with the red, yellow, white

What I believe they are trying to tell you is you need to hook up into a component input . It is a video input only and it has three jacks usually coloured red green and blue. Match up the colours with the receiver and you will get an HD picture. They way you currently have it hooked up is a composite connection with only the yellow being for picture. This cannot get you an HD picture. The red and white is for the sound. I don't know what you mean by he though.

Why do I see bluish light on right side of my philips plasma 42 i

Inside your television are 3 different sets of pixels (red, green, blue) If a pixel goes out or actually stays on there is no way that that can be repaired/replaced. Pixels are considered to be part of the panel of the tv and it is more cost efficient to replace rather than repair. Call your manufacturer immediately. See if you are still in warranty and perhaps they can replace your unit.

TV turns on, but picture is red/black

you can try the main board and the control board first (this is the lesser of two evils), if that doesn't do it, it's definitely your sustainer board is bad.

Need settings because of rubbish picture

There is no right or wrong setting for the TV, but I find the following give about the best results:

  • Contrast - 65 maximum
  • Sharpness - 2 maximum
If these are set any higher, the picture becomes very grainy, particularly around defined shapes.

  • Contrast + - OFF
  • NR - ON (If applicable)
These settings will need to be changed for each of the following:
HDMI 1& 2
  • EXT 1, 2 & 3
  • Analogue tuner
  • Digital tuner
The problem you describe, is usually with a satellite or cable box.

Unfortunately, there's nothing much you can do about the dead pixels, but the settings may make them less obvious.

PANASONIC TV, TH-42PX60

If it's just one video plug, then perhaps you have to set av5 as being in colour somwhere in the menus.  If you require three wires for the pictures, as blue, green, and red, then make sure they aren't in the wrong ports.
Good luck.
