Same problem.....suspect the power supply took out the mother board. May be the last emnachine for me. The machine powers up but the mother board doesn't seem to be sending a signal to the hard drive to do anything. the monitor sceen initially shows black with power down in 5 seconds. Am I on the right track or missing something. I'm no expert.

I too have the exact same problem. I replace power supply with new one. It powers up, fan works, chip fan works, I also see a 'RED' LED light on, next to memory chip. Tried several monitor's, same reading, NO Signal!

I suspect the video card, integrated into the motherboard was zapped, or the mother board itself has gone out.

Have anyone out there been able to resolve this problem with out have to spend a million dollar trying to figure it out?

Well this is one of the nightmare problems I keep got into ..there can be alot of posibilities..but the most common are the video card is damdaged or the mainboard.try to change the video card and check than.if the problem persists, than is a motheboard fault..look to all the condensors, chech the intefrity of your connections..
good luck.
it is  a very booring work.

When I turn on my machine, I get 3 beeps and my monitor tell me no signal, the model is a T5026 emachine, please email me any suggestions

Hello,

First use the following steps:

Turn off the system and disconnect power cables
Press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds.
Reconnect power cables and try to turn it on.

If it remains same, the next step will be to:
Turn off the system and disconnect power cables
Open the case and re-seat memory modules

If you have more than one modules installed, try to test the system with a single module at a time.

My emachine T1742 desktop will not turn on. When plugged in the power supply's fan turns on, cpu fan doesnt start, both hdd/power led's flicker and pressing power button doesnt power on/off system.

Disconnect all the devices from the computer(tower) including keyboard, mouse, monitor(everything)..even the power cable

Now keep on holding down the power button on the computer tower for 15-30 seconds..

Now release the power button, plug in the power cable, monitor, keyboard, mouse and turn on the computer...

If it works, great!!!

Otherwise, take it for repair..

Emachine wont start

remove all external and internal peripherls.

example for external: mouse, monitor, keyboard, printer.

Internal: hard drive, memory modules, video cards, modem (if there's any), optical drive or dvd drives.

just leave the motherboard, power supply and processor intact, try turning on the computer with out those components mentioned. see if you get a beep sound before it turns off, but if not the most logical part that needs to be replaced on this type of problem is the power supply if that doesn't work the next thing to do is replace the motherboard. hope that helps

hit me back on the results. thanks!

Computer will not turn on

Best way to check is to open your case. Near the power supply plug to the motherboard should be a little led light. If it is getting power to the board this light should be green. If it's unlit then most likely your power supply has gone bad. Hope this helps.

Powering up problems.

Try using another monitor that you know works. Then try another video card. The fans are running because the computer is running ---but the monitor is not. Green to Amber means monitor is not on.
A lot can go wrong with loose wires that shouldn't be loose.
But I would try this first.

Installed new Power supply, Monitor stays in standby...? So I noticed my fan was starting to go out, then it actually went out, my power supply would start to over heat and the cpu would shut itself...

Your problem is either the processor or the motherboard. that is why your monitor is not getting any signal. first try to replace the processor because I suspect that this might be the problem as it has gotten overheated before. if there was a power problem with you power supply you monitor would not power up at all.
