Hi,

Most problems of this symptoms indicates either:
1. Weak battery; or
2. Internal fault (which can either be hardware or software).

Initially, pls try removing the batteries for an hour or so hopefully doing a reset and will work from thereon.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

    Hi again,

Batteries - it may be necessary to clean the battery terminals and/or the contact points inside the battery compartment. In some cases, it may be necessary to gently bend the contacts with the objective of putting a bit more pressure to the battery terminals. There are instances where the batteries will no longer accept a charge, you can try replacing them.

Hardware wise - Common problems are stuck or inoperable lens. This may be due to dirt, dust, grime or the likes. You can try cleaning with a soft brush and/or a can of compressed air.

Software - If all of the above does not prove to be corrective, you may need to upgrade/update/reload the firmware. Unfortunately this is only done in authorized service centers.

Kodak Easy Share V1003 -Screen stays a grey blue color.

A new screen is availably from virtualvillage dot com for about $45. I replaced one last week. It only takes 20 minutes and a small screwdriver. The ribbon cable is held in by a flip up lock at the main board.

My Easy Share (Z730) is in the open position & will not close.

VERY COMMON WITH EASY SHARE. There are only a couple things you can really do. FIrst, try removing the memory card and try it. Than if that dosen't work. Try holding power button while gently wiggleing the zoom.

Battery will not continue charge after a few seconds

Run the battery all the way down until completely dead and then try recharging. Nickel metal hydride (NiMH) batteries don't develop a "memory" quite like the old nickel cadmium (Ni Cad) batteries, but this seems to work when my cell phone won't hold a charge for more than a day.

I have Kodak Easy Share CX7430. I have put in new

Enilra, sounds to me like you might have the button that takes the photo stuck in the down position. Without turning on the power, put you finger on the button and press down on it while you move wiggle your finger around. Get a good look at the button and see if You Can See If The Button is returning to the UP Position. Withour seeing your camera in person this would be my guess.
