Question about Fuji FinePix F20 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Can't watch VIDEO =(

I have a Fuji Finepix F20. When I transfer pictures and videos off of the memory card to the computer, 50% of time the video will not transfer. It appears as though the video is there but I when I go to play it, I'm not able to. The file size says "0KB" so obviously it's not really there. This doesn't happen everytime but it's very upsetting when this happens. I reinstalled the video driver on the computer and that usually works but this time it's not working at all. Any ideas as to why this is happening? PLEASE any help is greatly appreciated!!

No, I have tried that and it's still happening. Some videos come off the camera with no problem but it seems that the longer ones give me this problem. I am able to watch them on the camera just fine. When I offload the pictures on a friend's computer they offload with no problems. There is something wrong with either my computer or the driver I think.

That sounds like you could have a dud memory card. See if you can borrow one from someone and try that. If theirs works, then you know you need to purchase a new memory card.

OK - in which case. Do a search for VLC player in google. Download that, and try and watch the movies again. It could be a codec issue.

My Fuji finepix az250 only takes videos for 1 minute and ten seconds!

If your camera uses SD cards, look at the number in the circle on the card. Is it 4 or less? To get an uninterrupted video with some cameras, you need a 6 or better.

I urgently need to download my pictures I the MyFinePix Studio software is not regognizing the camera (FinePix F20). I have Windows XP and I have a newer Fuji Digital camera at repair right now.

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Windows Photo Gallery.

How do you transfer the pictures to the computer?

I have a Fuji F20. Before the computer will link up with the camera and find it, the power supply for the camera needs to be hooked up into the wall.

Here is a post from earlier I did for an Olympus camera. The instructions here should be the same for the Fuji.

I have a Fuji FinePix F480 which is brilliant but it isn't downloading all my shots onto my computer. It is showing a message that I have internal pictures. My question is how do I get these pictures to...

I've attempted in the past to download from the internal memory to the computer before with no success. What you can do is put the memory card back into the camera and transfer the internal pictures to your memory card (your camera refers to these as "frames"). I'm not sure if you have a manual or not but what needs to be done is selecting copy using the multi-control button on the back of the camera select "IN" for internal and arrow from internal to card. the only sticky thing about this is you need to do one "frame" at a time. Make sure you have the room on your memory card before doing this. You might want to format the memory card first before you do the transfer from internal memory to your memory card. Then once the Internal "frames" are all on the memory card you can down load them to the computer as "normal"

My Fujifilm FinePix F20 camera keeps giving the Memory Full warning with less than 50 pictures on it. This is with the XD card. It used to hold nearly 300 pictures. The card and camera memory have been...

My guess is that you used to take pictures at a lower resolution than you are now doing. High resolution pictures take more storage space than lower resolution ones.

It's most likely the video card in your computer is not fast enough to handle the video. Try the same thing on another computer (hopefully one with a faster/newer video card).

Writing error keeps coming up

Try formatting the xd card. The f20 has enough internel memory for a few pix, if the card is not working it uses internal memory. Also look for the number of pictures remaining if this is low the card is not working.
