To fix my blurred picture it was suggested that I try the focus

where that is. Could you tell me if I have to take the back

It's probably not your flyback and if you're still with us I could suggest the following:: It sound like convergence is mis-aligned and all you've done is try to use MF to correct it - but the MF may be corrupted - hopefully you know a little bit about your own tv to set the convergence manually so try this:
1. Turn Set On For 20-30 Min. Try Magic Focus, If This Does Not Help Follow These Steps.
2. With Tv Powered On, Access The Dcam By Pressing Magic Focus Button Until You See "Static Mode" On Screen. As Soon As This Appears, Press "Input" & "Ant" On The Remote At The Same Time. "Dynamic Mode" Should Be On The Screen Now Indicating The Dcam Mode Is Now Active.
3. Press "Swap" Or "Tv/Vcr" To Read From Rom. Crosshatch Convergence Should Be Corrected Now. Adjust Or Touch Up As Needed & Press"Pip Mode"/ "Prog" To Write To Rom. Then Press Again To Save And Then Press Mute To Return To Crosshatch.
4. Reinitialize Magic Focus Sensors By Pressing "Pip Mode"/"Prog" & Then "Pip Ch". Sensors Will Light Up On-Screen. When Green Dots Appear, Press Mute To Return To Crosshatch. Turn Set Off, Then Back On, And Confirm That Magic Focus Works And Convergence Is Corrected and no more out of focus...

ok...this is really meant for a qualified technician..but if your like me...you want to fix it yourself and save a few beans for happy hour.........hear we go...take the lower back off the tv...on your left hand side..you'll see a thingy that looks like a spark plug cap...it has a red wire sticking out of the top of it that goes off to the front of the tv (more precisely to the voltage tripler/High voltage block assembly) on the back of that is 2 little knobs..one says "focus"...the other says "screen"...try turning the fucus back and forth slightly until you get the best focus...we techs usually use a mirror in front of the tv so we can see the focus going in and out and make the changes without having to go in front..then in back of the tv...or asking a second party"are we there yet?"...let me know how it turns out..............

The picture is blurred, words are blurred . . overlaid with red. Tried Magic Focus after 20 minutes and it was no better

you need to change the convergence chips that are attached to a heat sink, they are the two black chips with a lot of legs on them.

Not focused

Please! Stop using the magic focus now!
There are internal parts that have failed and this requires attention by qualified personnel.
The more you hit the magic focus, the more the proper calibration points will go off the mark, since the computer only knows that the calibration is incorrect, but is unaware that the parts that DO the calibrating are defective.
Sometimes this will make the repair more difficult, since a major maual recalibration may be necessary if the registers "rolled over".
If no one had touched the magic focus and just called for repair, the set would just need the parts. Once replaced, the set would look normal. Yours will require a few more steps.

The picture is blurred because the red, green, and blue colors are not properly focused. The TV's auto focus feature doesn't solve the problem

This can be as simple as poor solder connections at the convergence ICs or defective ICs. If you can solder you can fiz this yourself. Let me know if you wish to attempt the repair and I'll suply additional details and instructions.
