Question about Kitchen Ranges
Hi there. I was broiling steaks for dinner tonight and my oven suddenly locked and went into clean mode on the cool setting. I can't get it open. I'm afraid that it's going to cause a fire with the high cleaning temps and food in the oven. I have tried turning off the circuit breaker to the oven, but it's still locked. When I turn the breaker back on, it's still in clean mode. Please help. I'd like to eat dinner but I'd really like NOT to burn the house down tonight. Thanks much. :-) Mac@1214.biz
Try this to get the oven door open. Turn off the power, take a coat hanger and bent at 90 degree angle about 2 inches long. Turn the wire side ways along the top of the door, 2 inches to the right of center, turn your wire so the bent piece is down. Now pull out on the door and move the wire to the left. This should unlock your door so you can get to dinner. What may have happened is that the broil got above 500 degrees at the oven sensor and locked the door for safety. That does happen
