I'm looking for the service manual for a Sharp Notevision XG-C50X. Is there a download for it somewhere?
To my knowledge this manual is available on paper only. What is the problem you are trying to solve? Perhaps we can help you to solve it.

Testimonial: "good info"
I'll need to look this up a bit, but my first inclination is that there is either an air flow issue or heat.
As far as the timer reset goes, that timer is to indicate that a lamp is nearing end of life. Requiring an "old" lamp makes no sense. This timer should be set when a new lamp is installed. This will give you a warning that the lamp is perhaps nears its lifetime and basically a prompt for you to purchase a new lamp.
Try reseating both the lamp and the access door. Also, make sure that the fans are turning freely and the area is clear of any dust.
Let me know if the symptoms change.
Dan
Thanks for the update. The next thing to check is the lamp ballast. This is the next most common failure part. This is the circuit that powers the lamp itself. Based upon your description (and the elimination of the other options), I would now suspect that there are a few defective components withint the ballast assembly. The heat of the lamp is probably causing the ballast circuit to fail. When there is any problem detected within the ballast, the unit will shutdown. It is also possible that the power supply module can not supply enough power to the ballast. That too can cause the shutdown.
Unfortunately, the ballast is no longer available. The power supply is available from tritronicsinc.com for $202.25 plus shipping with a core refund of $70 using part number: RDENCA011WJZZ.

Thanks Abrsvcs,
The projector turns on, displays "warming up - please wait" and a progress bar. After a few seconds it powers off. I put in a new bulb and the same thing happens. I tried doing the "lamp timer reset" as per the manual, but still it does the same thing. Maybe I'm doing it wrong? Its my first bulb replacement for this projector.
While perusing fixya.com (nice site by the way!) I saw a comment that you have to have an old (<10% life) bulb in to do the reset which seems weird to me - but I'll try that later with the old bulb.
Dan,
I have reseated the lamp and the access door and cleaned the air filter. It seems pretty dust free, I've not opened it all the way up yet though. I was hoping to find a service manual first.
I hear the fans when I turn on the system and the lights do not indicate any issues (temp, bad lamp etc). I hear it hum as it warms up, the bulb lights up and it shows the "warming up" message on the screen - But - it just powers off.
Thanks,
A
I opened up the system but I can't tell if its the ballast or the power supply. Without a diagnostic manual I'm pretty much stuck.
I was however able to read the part off of the ballast and from that find the Ballast part# and places that sell it. Since the ballast is $350 and there are better rated projectors for not much more - I think I'll just get rid of this one. :(
