RCA TruFlat 27F520T - FPA on and NO REMOTE

I accidentally put on the FPA lock and all of your solutions for unlocking involve use of the remote......I have the RCA TruFlat 27F520T

What if I lost the remote? How do I unlock it without the remote?

Also, how do I switch the input for the DVD to work without the remote?

Thanks!!!

If you've lost the original remote there is nearly no possible way to unlock the unit. RCA built their PL so that the combination could be set and the parents would merely have to take the remote with them and it couldn't be changed...
As to the DVD I don't believe there is an input button on the face of the unit and I'm not real sure if you could find a universal that would allow that... Not even Miracle remote makes an alternative and their remoted are as good as the originals...
Sorry

Model tcl 21m62s, i accidentally locked the fppa or fpa so now i can't used my tv. i dont have the manual and i lost the remote. what should i do?

Press & hold the display button on the remote control, for more than 5 seconds. If it do not help you, and you wish to get more details, check this link. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Selecting the view option, either to Mosaic /Timeslide, can be selected by the drop-down list, by the top left of the display window, will make surf easy. You can also do a search, by type in the brand name / model number / IC used, in the search box at the top right of the display window.

How to reset vchip parental blocks on a model f19246

Hello
To unlock the RCA TV you must have its original remote control handset. If you haven't one with you now, either buy a new one or just try to burrow it from any of your friends or relatives who own the same model of RCA tv. To unlock the FPA lock, try the following. One amoung the proceedings will surely unlock your TV.

Most RCA TV sets use a four digit code to control the v-chip. The code reset is different depending on the model. Try each number until you find the one that works for you.

1. Hold down the MENU button on the remote and VOLUME DOWN button on the TV it's self at the same time for at least 4 seconds. The set won't say so, but the lock will be unlocked

2. Hold down the 0 (zero) button on the remote and the VOLUME DOWN button on the TV itself at the same time for at least 4 seconds. The set won't say so, but the lock will be unlocked

3. Hold down the MENU button on the front of the TV and the TV button on the remote at the same time for at least 4 seconds. 4- Hold down GO BACK button on the remote and MENU button on the front of the TV at the same time for at least 4 seconds.
Hold down EJECT button on the front of the TV set and the MENU button on the remote at the same time for at least 4 seconds. Depending on the model, one of the methods should unlock the V-chip. Now, if desired, you can change the settings on the V-chip by going to the MENU and going to PARENTAL CONTROLS, or on some sets, going to MENU and then going to TV SETUP, then to V-CHIP SET.
OK.

Look for a "source" button, if you do not find one, just try scrolling through the channels as some TV sets will cycle through inputs after you cyucle through channels.

There is something on my tv that everytime i try to press a button on the tv it says "fpa lock on" how do i get it to unlock

I believe you can use the menu button on the remote to find the unlock for the front panel buttons. It is a toddler thwarting feature some sets have. Hope this helps:)

I have a rca tru flat tv and it keeps saying fpa lock on how do i shut it off

Need to know if you have the remote to be able to enter the setup menu for changing parental control. Here are the steps for getting in to turn the fpa lock to off. Not sure why it's so far down in the answer but scroll down for procedure.

Press MENU to see the main menu. Press CH+ or CH- to highlight Preferences. Press OK to enter the Preference submenu. Press CH+ or CH- to highlight Par. (Parental) Control. Press OK. Enter Password will appear on the screen. If you want to set a new code, go to steps 6-8 directly. (You can press the number buttons to enter a four-digit code. The code “0000” is the default password. If you have not set a code previously, then “0000” is the code.

Tv turns off and on by itself. It alsoo changes

This sounds like the front panel assembly(FPA) switches are acting up. What happens is the FPA switches start to conduct just as if someone was pressing the buttons. This in effect locks up the system control or causes it to do erratic things.
The way to determine if the FPA is bad is to remove it by unplugging from set. This requires front panel disasembly. Note:The remote will still work with the FPA removed so the set can be tested.
Let me know if you need more help or info.
Post back with make/model info. (the problem is common especially with RCA)
