Question about Teac PD-D2380 5-Disc CD Changer

1 Answer

I works mechanically, but doesn't play the CD

The changer turns on and moves the CDs around. When the CD gets under the playing arm (?), it lifts it up, holds it a few seconds then puts it back down and moves to the next CD. It does not play the CD. The CD does not rotate when held there.

I have the same problem, but when I open and close the tray while its "playing" the CD begins to actually play.

Try cleaning the lens first use a lint free swab and GENTLY clean the lens. don't use any liquid on this. if that doesn't work then load a disc and gently spin the disc when it lifts into load posistion. if begins to spin on it's own then replace the spindel motor. if it still does not spin, replace the optical pickup, the EF sensors inside the pickup no longer have the ability to read (see) the disc.

I have a Wurlitzer one more time. vinyl record jukebox.. I moved ( or turned) the turn arm forward to clean behind it and now the records will start to play and return to the changer. How do I adjust it.

Look up underneath the mechanism. You've moved the tone arm with respect to the bracket beneath it (which closes the trip switch). Select a record...turn the machine off...then look up under whilst someone moves the tone arm and you will see what it is attched to. If you are lucky you can hold that tight and gently move the arm back the other way a bit.

JBL 6 CD AM/FM Cassette Audio has CDs stuck inside and won't play or eject them. How can I get them out?

I've had this happen before with car stereo's uh i just normally unscrew the screws out of the top of the player to where you can get to the tray or slot for the cds and force the cd tray or the cd itself out but be careful and not break the cd this might work it usually does for me

I found a fix in another thread. I tried it last night, and it worked. Nothing was broken; a moving plastic piece had just jumped out of its track. Here's the fix:

1. Remove the cover (2 screws on each side & 3 in the back).

2. Find a small white arm (more or less cylindrical, about 1" diameter, & about 3/4" long) and a longer (4-5"?) thin black arm in the center of the unit. These parts load/unload CDs to/from the playing area. You should see that a little knob on the white piece has jumped out of its track in the black piece.

3. Carefully put the knob on the white piece back in its track in the black piece. That should do it.

I have had a few of these come to my shop. The gears jump out of timing causing the cd lift to jam or become unalligned. The unit will probably have to be disassembled to get the CD out or have it serviced.
