I have a WM2277HB and the water does not turn off even when the machine is turned off. When turned on it continually runs a cycle never stopping. The error code is FE. Does anyone have any suggestions, clues?
Has anyone ever had this problem - if so what needs to be done. I have laundry to the ceiling HELP!!!
As a temporary workaround, until you repair/replace the valve - you can shut the water off at the tap. Frequently, that will get the water valve in the machine to shut off, and when you reopen the tap the water won't be running (until the next time the machine wants to fill). You can babysit the machine, shutting off the water when necessary, and it will eventually wash your load.

I think it is actually a 'tE" error code. Thermistor error. Pretty easy fix. And under $10 part. Repair videos exist on YouTube, repairclinic.com or appliancepartspros.com. I would suggest that you look at videos and see how they all suggest you do the repair. Top off, control panel off, front off. Fairly complicated but very doable. If you get the part and study the parts diagrams, you can do the part replacement by turning washer on its side and do replacement from underneath. Takes a little feeling around but much easier.
WATER OVER FLOW ERROR // Water continuing to enter machine
The manufacturer has assigned this error or fault code to indicate that the washer is overfilling due to a defective water inlet valve. The valve is not repairable and will need to be replaced. You can check it with a multimeter to confirm, it should show continuity on both hot and cold pins. try exchanging the how and cold water hoses, cold on hot and hot on cold, see what happens. have u tried running only cold water or hot water wash? as for the smell could be a build up of detergent or frabic softner, try washer running machine with hot water and vinigar to clean out also check inlet valve for dirt build up
The FE code is an excessive water supply if the water is continuously running into the machine it may be due to a failing inlet valve or stuck float switch since you mentioned the drain pump filter being changed it could be that the old filter was restricting the flow.
The "FE" code is referring to a bad or malfunctioning water valve. The machine continues to fill because the solenoid on the valve inside the machine isn't closing to stop the water. The valve should be inspected and/or replaced if bad. This will require some dis-assembly, if washing machine repair isn't something your comfortable with then a service call is the best bet. If you are going to try and inspect yourself please make sure you unplug the machine before starting any dis-assembly. Hope this helps.
