Question about Kenmore 46462 Front Load Washer

Won't do anything

We have the Kenmore HE2 model #46462. We started a load of laundry. Went back in to check on the laundry to find all lights flashing. Tried everything in the book to reset it. Unplugged for 15 minutes, the spin/drain solution. When we restart the washer, the locked door light and add a garment lights come on. Nothing happens. It makes a noise like it is trying to run. We checked the filters and hoses and everything is fine. We have only had the washer for 17 months. This is very discouraging and hope someone has some answers. We can't afford a repair bill. The was pretty expensive and should last longer than this.

Thanks for any advise.

We finally had a repair guy out and the problem was the detergent. Be sure to use the HE detergent. We had a sudslock. Regular detergent suds way to much. It caused the machine to shut down. The repair guy showed us what to do should we go back to regular detergent. He also suggested thinning the fabric softner. The machine is very sensitive. He also recommended running a empty load on hot water using cascade dishwasher powder once a month to clean out everything thoroughly. Good luck to the rest of you.

    Frustrated Kenmore Owner,

He took the front bottom panel off. If you have a base on your washer, it is the one above it at the bottom of the washer. You will need a screw driver for this. There is a large drain pipe on the right that you will unscrew. Get a bucket and clean it out some, there is a filter there as well. With that open and the bucket in place, push the rinse/spin button and start it for a moment. Alot of dirty smell water comes out. It is running fine now. The problem is called a suds lock. The repair center should be able to take you through it as well. Before you do any laundry, do the cascaed load with hot water. I hope this helps you. Good Luck. We also signed up for the maintenance plan while the repair guy was here. I feel it is worth it just in case anything else happens.

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

Water pouring out of detergent dispenser drawer

There is a rubber hose that connects dispenser housing to outer tub of washer. Disconnect hose at outer tub and fish out article of clothing that has wedged itself in there cuasing water to back up and pour out of dispenser. In the future use a linen bag for small articles of clothing such as underwear and socks.

Kenmore HE2 flashing lights

had an old pressure switch that I thought was the problem I had from something else a year ago
That was the washer not starting, all kinds of lights
I took the back and top off and reconnected all the plugs.
Had a loose connection somewhere, it worked after that.

I blew into it and put it back on.
The rattleing quit in the pump after it pumped out, while the drum was spinning slow.
Now working ok
