TV shutting off by itself

Over night my TV's picture have turn really dark and pixelated in the center of the screen. TV says on this way between 1-5 minutes than turns off by itself. The green power light stays on through this so I have to manually turn off the TV and turn it back on.

The plasma panels operate on 170VDC and 60VDC, Sound like the 170VDC from the power supply is low or dropping low. You need a tech to look at it, the voltage sources are marked on the board and the adjustment is labeled. Typically a component such as a regulator or capacitor is leaking to cause the voltage to drop.

I turn the tv onblue light lights up (meaning power tv turn on) but nothing shows up on the screen. Was working fine one night and the next morning didnt work

Remove the power from the unit for a minute. Plug in and see if it works. If it does great if not continue.

There is a possibility that the LCD Lamp blew. To check this, turn the unit on. Look really close at it for a picture. The picture will be dark adn hard to see from a distance but it would be there if there is no damage to the main components. If there is a picture than either the lamp or inverter went, you will need to have it serviced or replace the unit.

If there is no picture at all then your unit may have had the tuner board go in it. This is a service only option. Best thing to do is take this to a tech shop.

Jvc 27'' TV is too dark

There are two small holes on the rear side through which you can adjust focus and screen. Use a flash light and locate the two adjustable slots inside the holes. This part carries high voltage. Do not use a metal screwdriver to adjust. Put the TV facing a mirror so you can see how it works. Do not turn more than 1/8th of a turn. The focus control makes picture sharp or fuzzy. Screen control could change brightness. While watching the picture in the mirror, slightly adjust the screen control. Do not turn too much. If it doesn't work, then call a JVC authorized repair center.

You wont want to hear this.....

Green dots on a LCD screen are burnt out pixels and unfortunately are incurable other than having the TV serviced at a high price. One of the reasons it is a good idea to get a warranty on these types of TVs is primarily due to this very problem....burnt out pixels.

Bottom half of screen goes black

This is because full pixels of your TV is not getting invoked at the beginning .If you are able to view the picture as normal after 1 or 2 minutes, its fine.Else you need to call to service center and get this problem fixed.

The TV turns on and you can hear the sound but the picture is dark except for a thin line of blue dots in the center of the screen.

You have whats known in the biz as a cold solder connection on the vertical output IC or on the associated components. Not a job for the handi-man unless you know the issues with safty, and precautions to take with Hi voltage inside of tv sets. Shouldnrt cost much for the local shop to find your problem . Now on rare occations the poor connections are inside the IC and the IC has to be replaced. Good Luck
