You try try the compatibility wizard in Windows 7 to see if you can install Magix Move Edit Pro 14 in compatibility mode for Windows Vista.
To run the Program Compatibility troubleshooter
Open the Program Compatibility troubleshooter by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting. Under Programs, click Run programs made for previous versions of Windows.
Follow the instructions in the troubleshooter.
If you cannot install a program, insert the installation disc for the program and, using the troubleshooter, browse to the program's setup file, usually called Setup.exe, Install.exe, or something similar. The troubleshooter is not designed to work on programs that have an .msi file name extension.
Tip
You can also open the Program Compatibility troubleshooter by right-clicking a program's icon or shortcut and then clicking Troubleshoot compatibility.
You can look up the program on windows website, they have a section on what is or not compatible with windows 7. You can also on your computer run the "Program Compatibility troubleshooter". Just type that into the help box and it will find it. There should be a setting that allows it to run under Vista. Also visit the Magix website for any updates.
It should, because it worked on Windows Vista, which Windows 7 is based on. If it doesn't work, you can right-click on the desktop shortcut, and under the Compatibility tab, you can change it to Windows Vista SP2, which should let the program start.
If a program cannot be run under Windows 7 because of compatibility issues, which is the case with Magix Music Studio 12 Deluxe, you have to right click on the executable file that will install the application and click Properties. Select Compatibility tab and check the Windows version you know the program worked with before (probably Windows XP).
You will have to do the same thing for the application start program after installation.
You can find more about this Compatibility issue on Microsoft website: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-vista/Make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows
try right clicking on the shortcut for your program and clicking properties, then click on compatability and choose run in compatability for windows xp sp2
if that doesnt work then you might need to look at magix for any updates
Have you try to use the software in compatibility mode for windows vista or xp ??
Simply highlight the icon on the desktop, right click and choose properties, then select the last tab (compatibility), here you choose to run it in windows xp compatibility. This should prevent some things on old software
Hope that helps IF NOT then try to return here Have a nice time over there
