GE Dishwasher GSD700 not cycling

I looked at the picture posted above and I realize that I have been trying to move the "vane" at the wrong place. When I removed the panel, I see the back side of the motor. At the backside there are some vents and inside something that roatates with finger easily. But as I look at the picture, the vane is located on or closer to the front of the motor. Correct? There I was able to feel a large Blade and inside something that was very hard to move. So, it is stuck. I will try to put some pressure there and see if I can get it released. I guess it should move clockwise? Am I right? Thnx for all your help and would appreciate a response.

GE Profile dishwasher too loud during the washing cycle

It has been my experience that water doesn't damage motors it destroys them! While it is possible I guess I would look and see if there is any kind of drive mechanism between the motor and the arm that could have been damaged. A warped shaft, bearing or bushing or something of that nature.

Hello. I have a GE Potscrubber 600 dishwasher. The soap dispenser will not close. This seems to be a common problem. Any help would be great, thank you.

Main detergent cup won't close on GE Potscrubber 700 GSD700.A workaround is to add the additional detergent with rinse aid 18 minutes intothe wash cycle. To repair, switch off power through circuit breaker. Set timerknob to 12 o'clock. If the detergent cup lever spring opens the cup after it isclosed, remove screws on panel that holds detergent cup and remove the panel upand out of door. Remove timer cover by moving it right and pulling up to exposetimer, see photo 1. _1909.jpg If a spring is loose, it can be reattached as follows.Remove two screws that hold timer, then remove timer. Do not remove timer knobfrom front of GSD700 because knob is designed for removal from rear of panel, after the timer is out. If spring attachment point broke off, reinforce it withepoxy (JBKwik), see gray cone upper right of center in photo 2. _1910.jpg After epoxy cures, drill and tap a hole for a metric 3 - 0.5mm-8mm screw (4-40 may also work). Install spring between new screw anddispenser linkage and tighten screw, see photo 3. _1911.jpg Install timer, jiggle knob so it engages timer and securetimer with two screws. Pull dispenser lever down to make sure it moves andsprings back. Replace round switch and cover. Install white cover with leverextended through it. Install cover screws, close soap door, and rotate timer, soap door should open after about 90 degrees of rotation followed by rinse aidactuation.

GE Dishwasher GSD700 not cycling

buy new dishwasher, if you spend the money on the motor plus your labour yo will still have an old one at that and next time something else will go wrong , like the solenoid or timer or circuit board or the impeller seals, etc. Vitally

Water not coming into dishwasher

Without knowing the model number of your GE dishwasher, but some dishwashers don't notice when the float / float switch is stuck. That could cause the dish washer to move through all the cycles but never have water flow into the dishwasher. That would be the first place I would look. But please post back here with what you find (plus the model number of your dishwasher) before ou rate me level of helpfulness, OK?

Soap dispenser cover won't close

It sounds like it may be stuck between cycle steps.(this sometimes happens if the washer is open during a cycle)Try and run it through one full wash cycle as it is.Then check to see if the soap door will close. If not,the lack may be broken

Dishwasher drain solenoid

Snoopy, first of all you did a good thing when you ordered the timer. I have got stung on this model by just changing the solenoid. The fact is the timer is stalling and sending too much voltage to the solenoid and burning it up. Just order the new solenoid and install it. The solenoid is a AC circuit so it doesn't matter which way the harness is on, you should be just fine with the new timer..Catriver..post back.

Dishwasher doesn't drain

Greg, if the model number ends in GO1, your dishwasher has a piston nut assy. thats problably giving you the grief. If this assy. goes bad you will have water left in the tub at the end of the wash. A common GE problem. It's located under the filter screen in the back and just unscrews out. Part number is wd24x199. It's an easy fix. Look up the part on the net to get an idea of what it looks like. Catriver..post back.

Dishwasher Does Not Cycle

IA, these GE pumps have a habit of sticking if the unit hasn't been run for a while. First you want to verify that the motor is in fact getting power, this will eliminate the timer. You can use a meter on the quik connect from the motor while in the wash cycle. If the motor is getting power, see if the pump is stuck by turning the motor vanes (Do this with the power off). If it's hard to turn and then frees up than this was more than likley your problem. You remove the bottom toe panel and will be able to check this out without removing the dishwasher.
