My pioneer hdtv receiver that I installed in the PRO-700HD has never worked reliably. I would like to buy a different brand of hdtv receiver (like the TIVO hdtv or series 3 receivers. My question is: can I use that receiver with an OTA antenna and plug it into the video input (either video 1 or video 2) using the component cable assembly and receive high definition performance approximating 1080i ?

Thanks for trying… partstore.com was actually the website that I originally tried ordering from. I feel lame for not including that tidbit of info on my original post because I didn't want to give that site a bad rap. After a bit more reasearch I discovered this site: http://www.highreflectivemirrors.com/ they carry the replacement for only $120 with free shipping and with only a few clicks I purchased it via PayPal. I am currently awaiting delivery and will post again if for some reason it doesn't work out.
The failure is not on the power supply but the convergence amplifiers STKICs have the 24 volts shorted.
If that fuse is blowing, de-solder the convergence ICs and put a new fuse to power up the TV; you should see distorted video when the TV powers up and the fuse should not blow.
The service manual migth not help much in this case since the failure is easy to pin point.
I am still awaiting someone to give me advice on how to proceed, or where I can go to get help. I have contacted Star Electronics here in Suwanee and the owner, Nafiz came out and took my chassis back to the shop with him. His prices are very reasonable and he is really pleasant to work with. I hope it all works out. Please keep me informed if you have any other suggestions.
