Previously had sony sonicstage software on my windows 98SE pc & it worked fine, have since bought a new pc runnning vista.
Tried to install sonicstage but keep getting the error message "CANNOT FIND THE OPEN MG SECURE MODULE" then the program exits.
I have a sony NW-E107 mp3 player used with this software, is this mp3 player supported under vista?

The NW-E55 Walkman Player is compatible only with the SonicStage Software for transferring the songs. Unfortunately, the Software is not compatible with the Windows 7 OS and won't be able to transfer the songs from the Windows 7 OS using the SonicStage Software. Only option to transfer the songs to the Player using the Software is via Windows XP or Vista. However. once you install the Software and transfer the songs, you've to use the same computer to transfer or delete the songs again.
This seems to be an error message when the database of the SonicStage Software has been changed. I suggest you to backup all the Songs in the Player and update the Software. Make sure that the SonicStage Backup Tool is used for creating a backup disc.
Then, uninstall the SonicStage Software and install the latest version of the SonicStage Software(ver 4.3). Before installing the Software install the SonicStage Security update and then the SonicStage Software version 4.3 for Windows Vista.
After installing the Software the issue will get resolved.
first off when you transfered them using the sonicstage software it put what are called digital media rights that locked that file to the pc that loaded it, dont worrie there is a way... open up the mp3 player in one window and find the music you want drag it over to your desktop, then get a program called tunebite and that should help
For sony mp3 player, u can only use SonicStage
software only now is version 4.3 but beware as this software may crash ur system and a lot of flaws.
If u can find alternatif pls advise me at
Arrghh, hehe that's the SonicStage software problem, I would suggest you to use Driver & MP3 File Manager Ver.2.0http://www.sonydigital-link.com/DNA/downloads/downloads.asp?l=en&ct=NWF&f=MP3FM20
It's much simpler and easyer tool to use. But if you still want to use SonicStage get a new version off the Sony site http://musicstore.connect.com/custom/promos/non_ie.html?checkBos=false
New version is 4.3, hope it resolves the problems. if not just in case here is my icq 24083314.
