Had same problem. Went to Sony's website and downloaded latest firmware upgrade (I'm sure just a firmware reflash of the same version already on unit would work, too.) Installed firmware and this problem disappeared.

there is a rest button at the backside of the walkman.put a needel there and press it...your walkman will be turned off.now on it again it will start working as it was before
