I have a hp zt 1200, that i bought that the screen was broke, i replaced the screen from another unit and now there is no picture, i faintly see Hp when it starts, but when i hook it up to an external monitor, it loads into dos, and i see white or gray lines running up and down, i made sure i hooked everything up like i took it apart, just not sure if it's the inverter, or possible motherboard issue

Re: hp zt1260 no display
My friend, I hate to say this however you told me that this was happening after your screen was broke. You have to replace it with a new monitor since it was damaged. That's the best solution we can do.

If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LED flashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faulty inverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link and follow my instructions to identify the fault and possible fix :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3598095-faulty_laptop_lcd_screen
If what you say is that all functions are working (start, speed up , down and incline up,down) then the upper console lighting may have loose wire harness( check first) bad soldier connection or the components that generate the images on the LCD are defective. If you have good connections on the wire harness then you may need to replace the upper console.
Ok it's probably not the battery. Try taking the battery out and run it just by the cord, if it works, than return the battery and get a genuine HP one. If it is a genuine one, save it.If fails i'ts the power board or even worse, the motherboard. Now it could be a CPU overheat, look up on google "taking apart HP zT1260". and clean fan and mainboard. if that fails, it's the video card, again look and take apart and see if the graphics card is removable, if it is replace it, if not. You got ripped off and he was bluffing :( Trust me I'm a computer IT worker. Try returning it, if that fails, tell people that he shouldn't be a repuatable seller. Good Luck
Unfortunatly when the screen is broken it costs about as much as a new tv to replace. I paid 1600 for an LCD and my daughter broke it. I would have cost 1200 to replace the lcd panel. So I just bought a new TV. For you new TV pick up a product called TV Armor. Its a TV screen protector designe d to stop objects from breaking the TV screen. http://www.tv-armor.com . I bought one a few weeks ago and now I can finally relax when she is playing near the TV.
if the screen is all white, the inside LCD is probably broke. The V3 razr are being assembled in india with crappy parts, you need to order a new display unit and have it installed or get a new phone, the unit is $45 US and can be bought online through ebay or if you call your provider they should replace it if your phone is still under warranty. The only problem with this is that if ANY of the water damage disks have been set off that voids your warranty, i had that problem and my phone has never ever been anywhere near water in the 11 months that i have had it and had to replace the display unit myself. A good place to get the unit from or have them install one is this guy in florida http://stores.ebay.com/RAZR-Screen-Repair-LCD-V3-V3c-SLVR.
