I have Canon IXY DIGITAL 25 ISO: 200 camera my zoom lens is strucking once in a while(i mean there is no free motion) ,....... can you please help me with this.
Sorry, but there's no safe or easy DIY fix for the lens problem, and any homebrew repair attempt will likely make the problem worse. I suggest that you take it to a local camera shop (NOT the camera department at a chain store) or contact the support folks via the Canon web site to arrange repairs. Be sure to get a firm price before you commit, though. The cost of the fix can approach the price of a new camera, and repairs typically only carry a 30-day warranty.
The non-functioning of the camera can be a fault in the shutter, zoom or auto focus sections and may be due to the failure of the Main control system or the drive. A simple was is to reset and we can try by removing the battery and card for some time. Now replace only the battery and while switching power ON, tap the lens hood on the palm of your hands so as to disengage any dirt or mechanism being struck. You can spray a degreasing spray on the lens hood sides and also assist the lens as it tries to come out, attempt to pull it out slowly while powering ON the camera. Also in some cases you can slid a thin film/paper on the lens hood sides to wipe out any dirt.

Use some air to blow between the lenses to dislodge any sand particles struck inside. Unless you are familiar with handling of small devices must you try and open. If so check the voltage on the motor drive check the auto focus and Zoom drives, it must be free with manual movement. If jammed the motor can be removed and released. If none of these works then you can think of taking consensus with the service centre.
Get estimate before you decide. It will be good to have it checked at the authorised service as you do not have to run around for spares.

The non-functioning of the camera can be a fault in the zoom or auto focus sections and may be due to the failure of the Main control system or the drive. This seems to be a mechanical fault and a simple way is to reset.Remove the battery and card for some time. Now replace only the battery and while switching power ON, tap the lens hood on the palm of your hands so as to disengage any dirt or mechanism being struck. When the lens comes out try and pull the lens with care , repeat till the lens comes out totally to free and realign by itself.
If not we need to open and check for a jamming of the lens system:

The lens error is due to failure of the lens control system. You can remove battery and card replace battery and while switching on tap the lens hood on your hands so as to disengage any dirt or mechanism being struck/jammed while it fell down.

This lens error is due to failure of the ZOOM lens control system if the rest of the camera works well. You can remove battery and card replace battery and while switching on tap the lens hood on your hands so as to disengage any dirt or mechanism being struck.
