Question about EliteGroup 741GX-M Motherboard
I'm having trouble with my ecs 741gx-m first off I have a amd athlon axda2200 cpu in it and it comes with 1.35 gs .
when I start the computer it sometimes comes up (warnning the boot prioity has changed )and can't find the hdd. Also it comes up with unknow bios type.I also don't have a A drive it is installed and shows it in start up but doesn't work.I have replaced it with a new one and cable but still does not work. I tryed to up date the bios through windows with a program that I downloaded but it comes up that the bios might be write protected?
If you have a PM-599LMR (M599LMR) motherboard or PG-5517A PreSystem you may not be able to update your BIOS. A batch of BIOS chips used on these motherboards was accidentally WRITE-PROTECTED when it was originally programmed. Any attempts to update the BIOS on one of these write-protected BIOS chips will cause the system to become unusable. The only way to restore your computer is with the original BIOS and the BIOS recovery procedure above.
