I can't get any midi signal from my keyboard connected to the emu 0404 pci. Works fine with an old sound blaster. I put on the latest drivers, tried a new cable etc but no joy. Any ideas?

When you do have ParchMix up and running, single-right-click the blue striped icon in your system tray (lower right corner of screen) and choose Restore Defaults from the popup menu. By default, PatchMix should start each time your computer is booted up.
The sounds do NOT come out of that keyboard. That keyboard emits MIDI digital signals that are sent to a device that genrates the sounds. That can be a sound module such as fopr instance an Emu Proteus which generates audio... OR a computer that has MIDI input and a suitable sound generating software like Ableton or even using the built in voicing in compouter sound cards (general MIDI).
1. You should be able to connect the midi up to the digi 001, if not get an 002, 003. The 001 is so outdated and will not support newer pro-tools software especially plug-ins.I know I had the 001. Now with the 003 rack(love it).and PT 7.4. Research how to plug a midi device into PT.
2.Would google EMU XL compatability.
3.refer to 2.
4. No just memory(RAM)
5.cool...yes why couldn't you?
6.You should be able to come out of the digi, then to a power amp, then the BAs
Hey ya'll.
I had the same problem with everything installed, icons on the screen etc...I took my stuff to my computer wizard and he came with the following solution which is:
Make sure that you have a Windows XP "SP2 or GREATER" this is the kicker.Go to the requirements sheet if you need more info.
Anyway I did that upgrade from SP1 to SP2 and it works like a charm with pristine sound.
Good luck fellows.

Try company that made the sound card
http://www.zzounds.com/item--EMU8803 look there they may have a solution apparently there is a partition going around asking them (the Company) to revert back to the old standard of the card?
Yes. Piano keyboard. Computer keyboard types in midi fine.
Ableton Live. Works fine with other cards.
