Well that makes 2 of us sparky, I never heard of that either nor do I know what skpe is. Lets just put this error code aside for now. Right click on My Computer & slide down to properties. Click on the Hardware tab than open Device Manager. Scroll down to Sound, video & game controller. Click the + sign. Do you see a yellow ! point at any device there? Now open control panel and open Sound & Audio device. Click the Audio tab. Is Realtek AC97 Audio listed there? Than click Voice tab, the same should be listed there. If Realtec AC97 was not listed reinstall your audio drivers. Click the link below & download from ECS. In referance to the mouse. If you installed new mouse drivers when you connected that new mouse, uninstall that software.
I did not find any referance to code 1 through microsoft or at ECS. Please post back so I can make some sense of this.
Good luck sparky!

1 more suggestion. After installing the AC97 drivers. Shut down the Pc. Clear the cmos. Use your manual & goto pg. 7 for instructions. Re-enter the bios & re-setup your settings. This may help get ridd of the error code.

Hi Melissa,
Check the batteries in the mouse itself, see that they haven't dislodged in the move, and make sure the mouse can find the sensor from the USB port. Let me know if that works. If not, I'll ask my son, he's a genius when it comes to that, he gave me his old Logi USB mouse cuz my old one failed too..
Hope this helps

Why can't I change pages on

1. It could be with their page views. Notify them.
2. If your using a PS2 mouse, change to a USB mouse.
3. Or buy a new PS2 mouse.

I have a computer that hates a PS2 mouse but works great with either a sserial or usb mouse.

Hi there the computer will stay on for about 10 min or so and then lock up and mouse and keyboard lock please help brand new computer did it the day i got it

Hi you should take it back to the place of purchase before doing anything otherwise you might lose any warranty you have on this new computer

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to fail to detect a hard drive continue on a cycle or to shutdown

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA and

the leads from your motherboard to your hard drive make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they are probably old and faulty ?
hope this helps
then click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f which will scan for and attempt to fix any bad sectors automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive then defragment your hard drive you have to keep a computer very clean & free of dust and give it regular maintanance

hope this helps

After a year of different problems with my computer I got a virus/worm and recently my guru had to start from scratch and build me a new one. I guess I hit a wrong key because all of a sudden my font size...

This is hard to diagnose with no information on the monitor and graphics card.
However, you can try the following which could solve your problem.
  1. 1. If you move your mouse do you see a frame around the magnified area?
  2. 2. If you do, do you have a 5 button Microsoft mouse?
  3. 3. It could be that you pressed the front thumb button to magnify the screen.
  4. 4. To turn it off press the button on the left side closest to the front of the mouse.

Mouse jumping to bottom left corder randomly

What I'd try is go into the BIOS setup, and set your serial port for COM1 IRQ4 (Interupt) and 3F8H (address), if these latter notations are listed. Often, you will see the serial port, parallel port, etc. set to Auto. You may want to see if the PS2 port can be set to a specific Interupt and address also, just as long as the settings are not in use by another device. These kind of problems can be hard to pinpoint, but hopefully the above will solve your issue.

No screen display at all and no short beep for post-intel D845WN board

Try the old memory back in and see if you get the bios screen showing up, if not find the clear cmos jumper either marked JBat 1, clrclk, clrcmos or similar and try again. If neither your old memory or new no longer allows the pc to boot, i would say that the motherboard has been stressed when you have fitted the memory by forcing a flexing in the board and damaging the cmos chip, only replacing the board can resolve the issue if that is the case
