Question about EliteGroup ECS 661FX-M Main Board Socket 478 for Intel Pentium 4 processor (MBEC661FXM) Motherboard
i recently installed a new mouse on my computer compatiable with skpe hated the mouse went back to old one and now i have no audio on my computer and the message comes up code one the mother board is a ecs 661fx-m i have no idea what this means pleeeeeeeeease help me
Well that makes 2 of us sparky, I never heard of that either nor do I know what skpe is. Lets just put this error code aside for now. Right click on My Computer & slide down to properties. Click on the Hardware tab than open Device Manager. Scroll down to Sound, video & game controller. Click the + sign. Do you see a yellow ! point at any device there? Now open control panel and open Sound & Audio device. Click the Audio tab. Is Realtek AC97 Audio listed there? Than click Voice tab, the same should be listed there. If Realtec AC97 was not listed reinstall your audio drivers. Click the link below & download from ECS. In referance to the mouse. If you installed new mouse drivers when you connected that new mouse, uninstall that software.
I did not find any referance to code 1 through microsoft or at ECS. Please post back so I can make some sense of this.
Good luck sparky!

Hi you should take it back to the place of purchase before doing anything otherwise you might lose any warranty you have on this new computer
Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty
One bad lead can cause a computer to fail to detect a hard drive continue on a cycle or to shutdown
Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA and
the leads from your motherboard to your hard drive make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they are probably old and faulty ?
hope this helps
then click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f which will scan for and attempt to fix any bad sectors automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive then defragment your hard drive you have to keep a computer very clean & free of dust and give it regular maintanance
hope this helps
