How would I begin to troubleshoot my Nikon Coolpix L5 if it stopped turning on after my two-year-old handled it? I have tried new batteries, but what else can I do? Thanks!!!

My Nikon camera was just working fine until I turned it off , and then I just slid the camera to video camera option to the right and then then lens opened and wouldn't close back, I think that it's jammed now because the batteries have already been charged and i don't know how to reset it or turn it back on.

I have a Nikon coolpix 7600 I could see subject in view finder but shutter would not click. I took the batteries out with out turning off the camera. The batteries were dead. I put in new batteries now the camera want turn on.
What can I do?

i bought nikon coolpix l5 10 montha back,i dropped nikon coolpix l5 now its not turning on :( what should i do ?

my nikon coolpix L5 digital camera only switches on with playback button, when switched on its ready for taking photographs but when shutter release button is pressed no reaction. VR is constantly displayed on the right of the monitor. i think maybe camera may have been dropped not sure. i think camera may be in permanent VR mode or permanent playback mode.
zoom buttons W and T are functional.

any suggestions???
