The TV and process the sound differently so the echo is a just a time smear. You shouldn't actually need to augment the HTS speakers with (ugh) TV speakers.

As far as comparative TV-sound loudness goes, if you drew it from the Cable Box to the audio system I'm sure it would be the same as your other audio. TV

make sure the wires from the speaker outputs on the stereo red and black are the same wires going to the red and black on the speakers.

5.1 Dolby system does not work with the T.V.

Solution: connected the rear right and left wires to the Front , left and right wires......................and everything works the way I anticipated without any technical problems....... the woofer works on a separate circuit, so I continue to receive the "low" frequency..

How do you tell if the color wheel or the cooling fan is out

That would be the color wheel. They range from $150-$600. That sounds like the whole light engine could have went out. They can be rebuilt for around 750-1000 bucks.

It sounds like you have a wiring issue. Try looking for a bad wire or crossed wires between the positive and negitive jacks on the back of the unit.

Sound

To everyone having sound trouble... there is a solution! First make sure your TV is OFF. Unplugg the 2 main cables going into the DVT 412 for 30 seconds. Then re-plugg them. Press down for a few seconds on all the BLACK tabs connecting the sound wires and release. Without a disc in the player... and the TV still OFF, turn the power on and immediatley hold the down the STOP button on the DVT412 for 5-10 seconds. Your picture, vocal and backround sound will return to normal. Feel free to make changes to the sound now! Happy tuning... GO STEELERS! LOL!

Sound problem

I found out that it was simply my speaker connection. That is, it seemed like a good contact, but in fact the stero was reading "pulsing" from the speakers and shutting off to protect itself. I simply cleaned off the wires and carefully reconnected them.
